I think FW is a minmaxer's nightmare and that's why you see a lot of posts complaining

If you don't sweat the details too much this game is a treat and a half. If you are obsessive about recruits, supports, levelups, classes, etc. this game will age you 20 years.

Does anyone else feel like not much has changed in terms of game plan? (Civ7 ToT)

Playing with the new update and I'm noticing that despite there being objectively a lot of changes to systems, units, etc. my overall gameplan remains unchanged from how I used to play before the update.

Completed legacy paths was how I oriented my gameplay pre-update. I would build wonders, build lots of settlements, obtain great works, set up trade for resources and gold, get treasure fleets going, develop high yield cities, and eventually either just rush factories or explorers depending on what was best (science was rarely the play for me).

With the new update, I have been able to win every time without changing the way I play. Everything I used to do is still good and still wins. So what? That doesn't mean there aren't other ways to play and win, of course, but it still leaves me feeling sort of bummed that despite there being a LOT of changes, fundamentally it's still kind of the same, and it still feels like a slog in most ways after Antiquity ends.

Bruce Wayne goes on Survivor without prep time. Can he win the million dollars?

Rules:

  1. Classic USA Survivor format. 39 days on a tropical island setting. Players are separated into two tribes at the start with equal numbers of men and women. A merge happens halfway through. Tribes compete for rewards and immunity. Two final Survivors face the jury at the end where they must argue why deserve the million dollars and answer questions made by jury members. Most votes on the final jury trial wins the million dollars. Players cannot bring any items with them. Host is Jeff Probst.
  2. Some classic Survivor twists will happen, such as players having to switch tribes and tribal councils where it is not possible to win immunity of any kind. Not every competition will be purely physical or cerebral either. There will be some of the classic 'popularity' challenges where players can cut your rope three times and you're out.
  3. This takes place in the DC Universe, so everyone playing knows who Bruce Wayne is and what he looks like (he can't lie about who he is). No one knows he is Batman. As for which Bruce it is, you fill in that blank yourself (maybe some Bruces could win, but not others?).
  4. Bruce is motivated to win but will have to struggle with his personal moral code to do so, just like any other Survivor player has in the past. Sometimes he'll have to lie and backstab people if he wants to get ahead.
  5. The other players make up a full range of your typical Survivor cast. Some of them are dumb, others more strategic, some of them athletic, a few of them might be villanous.

6. Bruce has no time to plan for this. He is literally told he's going to Survivor and dropped into the island at a moment's notice. Every other contestant gets a month of planning and prep.
