Buddy of mine partakes in a WW2 reenactment group here in Europe and I’ve heard of reenactments of the civil war etc. Over in Asia they do reenactments too and there is some medieval reenactments but I ask
How far back does reenactments go?
Not just a few rich people wanting to reenact for party (like I expect some royals might have done) but genuine reenactments like we have today ?
Was getting the train home late last night and I see a big fella slam to the ground and not wake up, was surrounded by staff and they had to get screens to block the incident

Walking around Belfast today and I’m really impressed with everything it’s been able to achieve but maybe if Belfast did this more often ( I know it went extra because of the 800,000 expected to come ) but especially around Christmas etc I feel like this could be an essential turning point into making Belfast a cultural and social hub if it can keep up and make more festival style events to bring more to the city if that makes sense ?
Especially with the stalls up royal avenue and beyond I feel like this is what’s missing around Christmas instead of the little tiny area around city hall.
Heck you could even do something for Halloween that’s on par with Derry but bigger !

Johnny Sheridan is a 47 year old from Dublin. As part of his former career as a psychiatric nurse, in 2022 Johnny began training in art therapy and, in 2023 his newfound interest in photography won out
His work, 'Galatea' is an Al based photographic work depicting a failed near future romance between a man and his robotic Al girlfriend. Borrowing its title from the Greek myth of Pygmalion, the project explores some of the perils of Al. In particular, it asks whether Al compounds misogyny or if it merely reflects it.
The male figure is intentionally ordinary; his subtle misogyny, shaped by 'manosphere' culture and toxic algorithms, emerges through expectations of perpetual submission and control over his endlessly patient partner. To avoid reinforcing this misogyny, the female figure is dressed in a utilitarian yellow jumpsuit.
In order to expose the absurdity of the fantasy of a compliant robot Al partner, the work employs theatricality and humour.
This includes an image showing the man holding baby clothes, suggesting 'womb envy' while his robot girlfriend sizes him up for alignment with her unknowable Al intentions.
Historically, tableau photography staged morality and social order. Galatea reworks this tradition through Al generated imagery to critique Al itself. By using generative systems to visualise their embedded biases, the project exposes the instability of photographic truth and the ways patriarchal fantasies become automated through algorithmic culture.

This question has probably been asked before but I’m newish to nord vpn
Been using it for a few months then out of the blue my safari has stopped loading, until I turn off my VPN.
Now I tried everything suggested, clearing my safari cache, turning off certain restrictors. The only thing that seems to work is by putting on NordLynx which I’ve never used before so don’t really know what it does.
Any suggestions on why my VPN has suddenly done this ?

Lads, I know we all sometimes forget to wear deodorant, I understand the heat has all got us in a tight grip this week but I just got off the bus and I felt like an anime girl at fucking comic Con the way the absolute smell of some lads stank up that bus beside me.

Was standing outside castle court and just saw a woman (African origin, not writing that to target any hate or racism btw) walk with her kids down the street outside the old Linen hall and stop her son as he pissed on the street infront of everyone. Not tucked away or hidden just stopped in the middle of the pavement and piss.

Just watched the Michael movie, as I was sat in my seat with my overpriced popcorn swaying back and fourth to billie jean. I wondered to myself, who now days could get a movie made about them in the style of Michael,Elvis, Bohiemian Rhapsody etc.
I think personally we see too much of celebrities now to make it an interesting watch, like are we really going to be going to see a Taylor Swift Biopic in 20-30 years ? Justin Bieber ? Billie Eilish ?

I know that sounds really fucking stupid but on my bucket list of New York is to sit in the back of a police car in America/ get handcuffed by the police and it’s nothing to do with some form of wanting to make a message out about the police I purely have always just wanted a photo with the police of NYC in there gear and just a photo of me , a 5’5 pasty white boy in New York City
Do you think they would be up for this or just tell me to fuck off ?
I also want to preface I have been to New York COUNTLESS times have family from Brooklyn, love the city but this trip is more so a “do” everything I have wanted to do sort of trip
