I recently picked up the plans for the Warrior Armour from Prince Armory, and am looking forward to my first full set of armour. I am planning on making the first set out of EVA foam, both for weight and cost savings, but the construction is almost entirely done with hammered rivets, and I’m unsure as to how foam will hold up.

Has anyone had any experience using rivets on foam, and can provide any information on how effective they are?

I recently picked up a LARP shield on facebook marketplace, and am looking forward to adding it to my ren faire loadout. However, the straps have left me somewhat perplexed, and I’m hoping this is the group that can help.

The vertically oriented straps would go around my arm, though there isn’t anywhere to grip; they’re also not long enough to go around the shoulders and wear on my back. The horizontal straps would allow for a more comfortable carry, but there’s no way to connect it to the upper arm.

Looking at the attached pictures, what would be the best way to carry this?
