[TOMT] Looking for a move from the 70/80s. Scifi

My memory is shot, but from what I can remember, a human space pilot was shot down fighting a alien threat and they eventually became friends. Then, sometime later, their spaceship crashed into the earth ocean a group of old people found it thinking it was a rock, put it in a pool, and realized they were able to become young again. The healing rock stops working, and they open it to find the pilot. Some other old dude comes in and says something like "the magic is all gone, champ".

Funny Story to Share

I will preface this by stating I am a pretty chunky dude. So my family stayed at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres last year and had a great time. Halfway through the trip we went to their Mexican restaurant for dinner and I ordered the shrimp plate.

The server tried to tell me something in Spanish, but there was a bit of a language barrier, so he stared at me for slightly too long and jotted something down and left. I had no idea what that was about, but that was the only awkward interaction I've ever had with staff, every other interactions was great and wonderful. We always tipped well.

When dinner finally comes around the dude has a big ass smile on his face, sets everyone's plates down, then he looks at me and combines 3 of the shrimp entrees (that had 3 shrimp each) onto a single plate and handed it to me.

This dude must have looked at me at said to himself, "Theres no way in hell 3 shrimp will feed this man, I am in awe by the size of this lad". He took one look at me and tripled my dinner order.

It took me a moment to register but I thought the entire interaction was funny and endearing as hell.

Dumb Question - Tipping Logistics

So super dumb question.

Say you're going to a swim up bar that switches out bartenders every few hours.

If you tip $10-20 up front what happens when multiple people are working or the guy you tipped changed shifts? Do you keep giving ever new person $10-$20 bucks?

If we follow the $1-2/drink guide, are we handing them wet soggy bills? Even if you're a dork who uses those waterproof cash lanyards, are you going in there with wet hands and awkwardly handing the bartender soggy bills or laying them on a wet table?

I'm probably way overthinking this.

I took my family to Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres last year and we LOVED it. The swim-up room we booked was huge and spacious. We wanted to book a vacation this summer and the huge swim-up room we got was the best part of the trip.

Other swim-up rooms i have seen were adult-only or very small. I dont mind going back to Majestic Elegance, but it would be nice to see something else. Looking to stay within that budget range.

I am booking a resort with a kids club that offers childcare services. My son is 7 and a SUPER picky eater, so we were thinking about taking advantage of this for a 1-2 hours while we made reservations at a less "kid friendly" restaurant, but it feels like wildly irresponsible to leave my son at a daycare in a foreign country.

Seasoned parent travelers - is this a normal/accepted thing?
