I'm 23 years old and really into art/counter culture so have lots of face piercings, and tats all over my body including hands, neck, and one on my face and I try to be nice and social at work because that's just how I am
I'm also incredibly into fashion and just looking nice so I also have some lip fillers, done eyebrows, like doing makeup, etc.
However I'm pretty over trying to act like a normal well adjusted person because men AND women keep disagreeing with me over the most basic "nerdy" things I know I'm 100% correct about (like financial markets/economy stuff, general science knowledge, etc.) and men keep ignoring me in group convos until I force myself in there and say enough smart things and they realize I'm not an idiot
Starting to consider just never talking to coworkers ever again unless I absolutely have to, never doing my makeup or hair again, and wearing my MIT merch every once in a while
I've also had this issue my entire life. The coding clique at my hs all talked behind my back (and other "non nerdy" students who also got into top CS schools) because they thought I lucked into MIT, and at MIT I've lost lots of CS/eng friends because they would get jealous at my success because they knew that I didn't dedicate as much time/effort into studying/career development as they did (they would actively be insecure in my face or complain about DEI)
