Looking for a C/C++ Programming Buddy (Raylib)

Hey everyone,

I'm currently learning and developing a dark fantasy RPG using Raylib and C/C++ and I'm looking for another programmer interested in working together on game development.

The goal isn't to "hire" anyone or assign tasks, but to collaborate, learn, share ideas, and build something interesting as a team.

Current interests include:

- C/C++

- Raylib

- Gameplay programming

- Game systems

- RPG mechanics

- Tool development

The project itself is a dark fantasy RPG, but at this stage I'm mainly looking for someone who enjoys programming and would be interested in working on game-related systems together.

Experience level doesn't matter too much as long as you're motivated and interested in C/C++ game development.

[HOBBY] Looking for Developers, Artists & Writers for a Dark Fantasy RPG (Early Development)

Hey everyone,

I'm currently putting together a small hobby team for a dark fantasy RPG project called Grim Hollow.

The project is still in a very early stage of development, so this is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to help shape the game's direction from the beginning. We're currently focused on planning, prototyping, worldbuilding, and establishing the foundations of the project.

This is a non-commercial hobby project with no budget. Nobody is getting paid, and there are currently no revenue expectations. The goal is to learn, gain experience, build portfolios, and create something we're proud of together.

About the Game

Grim Hollow is planned as a 3D Dark Fantasy Action RPG featuring:

  • Open-world exploration
  • Large interconnected dungeons
  • Choice-driven storytelling
  • Multiple endings
  • Atmospheric environments
  • Dangerous enemies and boss encounters
  • Deep lore and worldbuilding

The world is heavily inspired by the oppressive atmosphere found in games such as Dark Souls, Fear & Hunger, and other dark fantasy settings.

The story takes place in a dying world corrupted by the remains of forgotten gods. Players will explore ruined kingdoms, cursed forests, underground sanctuaries, and ancient dungeons while uncovering forbidden knowledge and shaping the fate of the world through their choices.

Looking For

We're open to anyone interested in contributing, especially:

Experience level isn't the most important thing. Passion, reliability, creativity, and good communication matter far more.

Important

Because the project is still in its early stages:

  • There is no playable demo yet.
  • Core systems are still being prototyped.
  • Some design ideas may change during development.
  • New team members will have the opportunity to influence the project's direction.

What This Project Is Not

  • Not a paid position
  • Not an NFT/Crypto project
  • Not an MMO
  • Not a "next AAA game" promise

We're simply a group of people who enjoy game development and want to build a dark fantasy world together.

I'm currently developing Grim Hollow: Legacy, a dark fantasy 2D pixel-art platformer built in Godot.

The game takes place in a cursed world trapped in eternal darkness. Players take on the role of a forgotten knight who awakens in an ancient crypt and must journey through dangerous dungeons, ruined kingdoms, and corrupted lands to uncover the truth behind a devastating curse known as The Hollowing.
