Yesterday, my girlfriend (21F) and I (21M) got into an argument. Earlier, she asked me to meet up so we could play sports together. However, when we met, she spent most of the time watching a drama on her phone. At first, I didn’t mind, but as she continued watching episode after episode instead of doing what we had planned, I started to feel frustrated and ignored.
She eventually noticed that I wasn’t in a good mood and suggested we play, but instead of doing so, she suddenly became emotional, cried, and left. Later, I tried to text her and explain my side, but she was still upset and accused me of raising my voice at her, which I don’t believe I did. I apologized for making her feel hurt, but she responded by questioning how I could let my girlfriend cry and then continue texting her.
The conversation eventually led to her saying she wanted to break up. When I told her I didn’t want that, she gave me another option: if I wanted to stay together, I shouldn’t contact her for a week. Now, I’m confused about what this week of no contact is meant for? And please give advice.
