Recently moved to Miami and have been an avid user of Duolingo but I absolutely SUCK at speaking Spanish. The grins and smirks I get when I try to speak is honestly too funny. Sometimes a wholesome can be made if I’m trying to converse with an abuela at a store but it’s still a little embarrassing. Anyone have any tips on improving my speaking skills? Anything helps.
To preface, Marathon is my first extraction shooter and also the first Bungie game I’ve really gotten into so I can’t compare my experience to Arc or Tarkov (I have heard Tarkov is 1000x more difficult).
The Marathon community is overwhelmingly positive and the runs are extremely fun and rewarding. The gun play is dynamic, but also tactical and easy to improve upon. I’ve even run into a lot of longtime Destiny players who switched over to Marathon and are having a blast with it.
My confusion for the hate is that Destiny 2 is still available for everyone to play, with over 11 years of in-game content. From my perspective, Bungie had an extremely great run with Destiny and want to try out something new and that something happens to be Marathon.
I get how it’s not the most beginner friendly game. I SUCKED at first and did not have a clue what I was doing. Sure enough, with a little time, I got the hang of it and it is by far the best PVP experience I’ve had in a really really long time.
Besides the Bungie and Sony drama, the game is pretty hard to fault. Art is neat, guns look and feel great, and the lore is surprisingly rich if you choose to dig into it. I get how the story can be difficult to grasp since the devs chose to tell it similar to how FromSoftware tells their stories.
What is not there to like about the game??
