Fallout New Weegaz

Little peice featuring my fav companions while working on some other art things, preparing for a move later and working.

Who are your favs and why?

Arcade, along with being witty and charming, and just generally pleasant to be around, is a pragmatic yet kind soul. He sticks to his principals, but is willing to have discussions and have his opinion changed within reason. He feels like an older classmate who's willing to help and talk things out, while also having very clear bounties and stances. And, again, I find him nice to be around.

He's a good guy, and I may be alone in this, but I enjoy and appreciate his input.

Veronica is this funny, slightly tragic, and driven individual, who's life just gets *infinitely* the moment the Courier decides to let her tag along. She's such a joy to be around, that she's one of the only people that can get me to feel "excited" to go Vault hunting in the game (I delve into vaults all the time, not bc I *like* doing it; force of habit. Knowing it can "help" her makes it a bit more tolerable).

I always feel a bit bad when doing her quest, knowing that all our hard work ultimately does nothing to get the Brotherhood to be more sustainable. The choice on what to do is kind of hard for me: either push her to leave even when she's not ready to, or let her stay watching her family die out as tensions between the two only rise while their relationship turns even more sour. I found her story a pretty compelling and tragic study about toxic family and how they can still hurt if you leave or stay. There was no winning for her, for a lot of people.

Cass is fun. Her perk is fun (love the extra DT from whiskey, and being addiction proof), her passing remarks everywhere you go are funny, and her quest is cathartic as heck [love you Gloria, but also you absolutely had it coming].

I find Cass' perspective on the NCR from a civilian point of view pretty interesting. Like Boone, she's a very critical supporter, focusing on how bad the Republic is at protecting their own. Love how she describes them as "some dumbass younger brother, say, who knocked up the pastor's daughter, can't hold a job, and his home-away is a jail cell?" It's extremely accurate to the state of NCR politics, and the nation overall. Better than the Legion, still sucks.

Cass has a bunch of memorable quotes, speaking of which. She's the Majove's resident word smith always has something biting or fun to say: my favorite bits being when she calls Benny a "snake" for shooting me, and the Fish conversation.

TW//Blood// Dr. Maddie Mikklesen Nolen gets to the heart of the matter

Maddie Mikklesen Nolen piece for a bluesky challenge. Was fun to work on, but I think it looks a tad bit cluttered. Hopefully this tides the Maddie Nolen fans over until I can work on the next comic properly (I have a script in the works, sorry about the delays.)

Hackerman Hassles

I just want it on record that the terminal mini games in New Vegas are the bane of my existence. I am not patient or good enough to get passed these goddamn terminals without mindlessly mashing and resetting.

Maybe if I took my time with them I'd enjoy these eldritch riddles more, but I have a desire to explore more than one fictional DOS screen, and an simply bad at them. I don't enjoy them.

Still, I'll continue to bitterly comply with the game's sick desire to give me the option to brute force my way through these optional mini games. Anything for meager XP gains and a few stacks of ammo and junk I'll never use.

Maybe if I took my time with them I'd enjoy these eldritch riddles more, but I have limited time these days, a desire to explore more than one fictional DOS screen, and simply don't enjoy them.

And as far as I can tell, no one has made a mod to cater to my specific needs, so I will continue to bitterly comply with the game's sick desire to give me the option to brute force my way through these optional mini games for meager XP gains.

I sometimes find myself having to choose between doing what my Courier's character *should* do, and what I want to do.

Like, yes, Owelia probably would be ok with sacrificing Cass, bc the hot lady in Freeside told her to. *And* the quest pisses of Eddie "Ceasar" Sallow, and that's just fun to do.

But also, I really like Cass as a character and companion, and always appreciate her running commentary throughout the game. Plus, she's the only one out my 3 favs that ends up sticking around, regardless of which ending I usually decide to go for.

There are a lot of situations where I break my own playthrough rules, but remaking yourself and beginning again are major themes in the game, so maybe it's not rule breaking after all.

(Notes: not terribly happy with this one, but given how my job is ramping up this week and my self imposed challenge to make one of these weekly by Wednesday, that's just something I'll have to get used to.)

Not a Cait hater, just find the slander amusing. She's an interesting character, with some truly fascinating choices made by the writers. She really is one of god's funniest soldiers.

Any time I try to do a melee only playthrough, I always encounter some ranged weapon that just speaks to me on a primordial level. I get melee is powerful, but I just love the 44 and Trail Carbine too much.

Any time I tell myself I'm going to be doing a melee only playthrough, I always encounter some ranged weapon that just speaks to me on a primordial level. Like, I get melee is powerful and can out damage guns with the right perks... but I just love the 44, and Trail Carbine.

[Also, a page for my Courier]
