I am 18 yrs old, Female, and had (about) a spinal fusion from T-4 to T-11 way back in 2021. I can’t remember the exact numbers but I’m pretty sure it ended at T-11 at least.
I have additional problems like scoliosis, which is why I had the fusion, and Spina Bifida (if anyone relates :) I’m still not the same as I used to be pre-op, but I’m getting there.
I wanted to ask is if anyone else experiences random popping in the area of there fusion when moving a certain way. It’s not often but it’s when reaching down or forward for something. It does not feel nice at all. However, I wonder if it is just air as if you were to crack your back any other time normally but it just feels different now because of the fusion. Since your back isn’t really supposed to twist and have room to crack comfortably.
I know this is not a place necessarily for medical advice. But, I just wanted to know if anyone has commonly had this before. Or, if it is something more unique to me (especially cuz I have a few quirks due to my Spina Bifida) or if it even is something that sounds alarming. I just want to know if it is a shared experience and what others think/know what it is. Cuz it is quite unpleasant when I do experience it.
Thanks!
