I am 18 yrs old, Female, and had (about) a spinal fusion from T-4 to T-11 way back in 2021. I can’t remember the exact numbers but I’m pretty sure it ended at T-11 at least.

I have additional problems like scoliosis, which is why I had the fusion, and Spina Bifida (if anyone relates :) I’m still not the same as I used to be pre-op, but I’m getting there.

I wanted to ask is if anyone else experiences random popping in the area of there fusion when moving a certain way. It’s not often but it’s when reaching down or forward for something. It does not feel nice at all. However, I wonder if it is just air as if you were to crack your back any other time normally but it just feels different now because of the fusion. Since your back isn’t really supposed to twist and have room to crack comfortably.

I know this is not a place necessarily for medical advice. But, I just wanted to know if anyone has commonly had this before. Or, if it is something more unique to me (especially cuz I have a few quirks due to my Spina Bifida) or if it even is something that sounds alarming. I just want to know if it is a shared experience and what others think/know what it is. Cuz it is quite unpleasant when I do experience it.

Thanks!

First Project; Don’t Like It For Some Reason

This is something I’m gifting to someone and it’s my first time doing string art. I actually posted the blueprints here for this project a while back asking for help of how to execute it. Now I finished it and I’m not sure if I like it. But, I can’t figure out what seems off or how to fix it.

The piece is supposed to be based on the 💜 and 💟 emojis. The original idea is the hearts go inside in each to just be the purple square. (Ignoring that the colors and heart shapes are slightly off. It’s just about the sentiment lol). But for the sake of the art piece, I felt like I needed to add some of the white. Otherwise, it would just look too plain and weird, even though that’s how the original idea is.

I just can’t place why it looks off to me. If it just looks too clunky or amateurish. If it maybe is just too many layers, the colors, amount of nails, or the white throwing me off, idk. At the time, I didn’t have a better idea than having the double line of nails for the heart. I thought it would look fine but idk if something else would have looked better. Does anyone have any feedback? Or am I just over thinking/being over critical? I was that way with the whole process lol. (Btw sorry about the lighting with the pics, it kind of makes it hard to see the white and everything).
