What is this plate behind the flywheel on 15 Subaru Forester?

Working on changing the clutch on a 2015 Forester with 150k miles. Clutch has never been changed before, as far as I can tell.

After I took off the flywheel, I found this plate behind it. What is this and should I install the new flywheel over it?

About to drop the transmission for clutch replacement

First time trying to replace the clutch. Took 2 of us 6 hours to get to this point. Broke 2 wheel studs and 2 muffler bolts along the way. Wish me luck 🤞

Replacing the Clutch on 2015 Forester

My 2015 Forester has about 150k miles. The clutch has started slipping quite a bit on all gears.

I got the Exedy kit and Luk flywheel from Rock Auto, pivot ball and clutch fork off Amazon. Also got a cheap transmission jack.

I've never done a clutch replacement before. For anyone who has done this on Subarus, any tricks or tips? Any thing you wish you had known before you started?

Appreciate everyone's help in advance.

Bought my 2015 Forester 6MT with 134k miles last July. Previous owner had receipt showing both rear wheel bearings got done by a shop in March.

I've put about 15k miles since then and both rear wheels started making a loud roaring noise at highway speeds.

I replaced both with SKF units from RockAuto ($90 each), and the noise is completely gone. Car is quiet again. Hoping they will last more than a year.
