Hue App - Performance Mode Setting

I've not seen any posts about this, but then again I'm relatively new, so this may be redundant information.

Recently I noticed severe performance issues with the Hue Play Gradient strip and the Gradient strip I use at the bottom of my TV, it just came out of the blue and I'd not altered any settings in the app at all.

It presented as a distinct stepping effect whenever colours or brightness levels changed, at first I assumed it was related to the TV sync app or my LG C4 so I reset everything but it had no effect, I changed my bridge to a Pro and again no dice, I reset our router + TV + app + bridge with absolutely no joy and I was on the verge of either ripping everything out or trying the 8K Syncbox when I decided to have one last look in the app settings.

As you'll all probably be aware which is why this post is probably redundant, the entertainment area settings contains the Performance option which is set to auto by default, I read the explanation and honestly, I thought it can't be this simple right? WRONG! Once I changed to manual and chose the normal Gradient strip strip as the sync option everything was back to normal, well better than when it was a new install actually, the lag I'd been getting and was told is normal is virtually gone and the colour and brightness fades/transitions are perfect.

I don't know if anyone will find this useful but I figured I'd post it anyway, just in case.

Best regards,

Andy.

Hello,

I have a PS5 Pro in an AV cabinet in our conservatory and currently it's connected to the main Hub Pro via WiFi and the built in PS5 speedtest shows it's getting around 750-900ish Mbps although it fluctuates and I was considering wiring it into the extender that came with our package to see if it helped with consistency but I get the "too close" message and I'm worried it will cause issues.

Our hub is in the next room through french doors at the far end of the conservatory, the PS5 Pro is at the opposite end of the conservatory so wiring direct to the hub is a no go because although it could be done, my wife isn't having a cable snaking along the skirting and me drilling holes in the wall which leaves using the extender the only option other than remaining as it currently is.

To be clear, I'm not experiencing any issues but I'd like to have a more consistent speed overall, any thoughts from more knowledgeable folks would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Andy.
