Is Metroid Prime 4 a good entry point?

Hey everyone,

I bought Metroid Prime 4 because of the hype, but I still haven’t started it yet. The Switch 2 visuals are honestly one of the main things pulling me in.

I played Metroid Dread and absolutely loved it, but I feel like a total noob when it comes to shooters. Do you think that could be a problem with Prime 4, or is it still approachable if I’m more into the exploration/metroidvania side of Metroid?

Would you say it’s a good entry point for someone new to the Prime games?

Is there any way to make the PS Portal wake up faster?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been using the PS Portal more lately and there’s one thing that’s driving me a bit crazy: it takes way too long to be ready.

With something like the Switch 2, you press the button and you’re basically back in the game almost instantly. I know the PS Portal isn’t exactly the same kind of device, since it depends on Remote Play and the PS5, but the waiting time still feels pretty rough. Sometimes I just want to play for 10 or 15 minutes and the whole process makes it feel less convenient than it should be.

Is there any kind of proper sleep/rest mode for the PS Portal that makes it wake up faster? Or any settings I should change either on the Portal, the PS5, or my network to make the whole startup process smoother?

Also, feel free to share your tricks to make the PS Portal run more smoothly in general. Things like Wi-Fi settings, PS5 rest mode options, router tips, connection tweaks, or anything that has helped you reduce lag or improve image quality.

I really like the idea of the device, but I’d love it to feel more “pick up and play” instead of “pick up and wait.”

Hi everyone,

I’ve recently started playing Persona 5 and I’m about 17 hours in. I’ve just finished the second Palace, and honestly, I’m loving the game so far.

The story, the characters, the style, the music… everything is really clicking with me. That said, I’ve never really been the type of player who finishes extremely long games, so I’m a little worried about whether I’ll actually manage to see it through to the end.

For those of you in this subreddit who have finished it: how many hours did it take you to complete the main story?

I’m not trying to rush it, but I’d like to get a realistic idea of what to expect from players who have actually beaten the game.

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I’m considering upgrading my current setup and I’d like to hear some opinions from people who use Macs for video editing and creative work.

At the moment I have a Mac mini M2 Pro with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. I usually work with Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Canva, Chrome and other apps open at the same time.

The Mac still performs well in many tasks, but I’m starting to notice its limits. When I edit heavy 4K projects in Premiere, especially with large files, the system starts struggling with memory pressure and sometimes asks me to close or restart apps. On top of that, 512 GB is no longer enough, so I’ve been depending more and more on an external SSD.

Now I’m not sure what would be the best upgrade path.

Would a Mac mini M4 with more RAM and storage be enough for this workflow?

Or would it be smarter to spend more and get a Mac Studio, mainly for the extra RAM and better long-term performance?

I’m also wondering whether it’s a bad time to buy, in case Apple releases updated models soon or RAM prices keep going up because of the current memory market situation.

For those of you working with Premiere, Photoshop and large 4K files, what would you do in my position?

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I’m starting to think about upgrading my current Mac mini and I’d really appreciate some advice.

Right now I’m using a Mac mini M2 Pro with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. My usual workflow involves having apps like Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Canva and several browser tabs open at the same time.

For general work it’s still a good machine, but when I’m editing in Premiere with very large 4K files, I’m starting to hit some bottlenecks. Sometimes the system asks me to close or restart apps because of memory pressure, and the 512 GB internal storage has also become too small, so I’m constantly relying on an external SSD.

I’m not sure what the smartest move is right now:

Should I upgrade to a Mac mini M4 and configure it with more RAM and storage?

Or, considering the price difference, would it make more sense to go for a Mac Studio with significantly more RAM and a setup that could last longer?

I’m also hesitant because I don’t know if Apple might release new models soon, and with all the current concerns around RAM prices / memory shortages, I’m wondering if waiting could make things more expensive.

For people doing video editing, photo work and multitasking on Apple Silicon: what would you recommend? Is the Mac mini M4 enough for this kind of workflow, or is the Mac Studio the better long-term choice?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hey everyone,

I’m coming from an Apple Magic Keyboard and looking to switch to my first mechanical keyboard for work (I’m a social media manager + journalist, so I type a lot every day).

Right now I’m deciding between the Keychron K1 Max and the Keychron K3 Max.

Here’s my situation:

  • K1 Max → available right now (ABS keycaps)
  • K3 Max → completely out of stock everywhere… and no clue if/when it’ll come back

Most recommendations I’ve seen lean towards the K3 Max, but I’m starting to wonder if it’s even worth waiting for something that might take months (or never restock?).

Also, I haven’t seen nearly as many strong opinions about the K1 Max. Is it actually worse, or just less popular?

What I care about:

  • Low-profile (I really like the Magic Keyboard feel)
  • Comfortable typing for long sessions
  • Not gaming-focused

If you were in my position, would you:

  1. Just grab the K1 Max now
  2. Wait for the K3 Max
  3. Look for something else entirely

Would really appreciate real-world opinions
