Hi everyone, I am an international student joining Uni of Freiburg this winter Sem and I was wondering what winter clothes should I pack (my home country is not that cold so we don’t require heavy winter coats or jackets) and what price can I expect if I decide to buy in Freiburg ( if u have any recommendations of stores pls do tell)

I’m an international student starting the M.Sc. Neuroscience program at the University of Freiburg, and I’ll likely be based at the Bernstein Center (Hansastraße).
I’m applying for a single apartment through SWFR and would love some advice on which residence to prioritize. My options are:
Ulrich Zasius Haus (UZH) / Lehener Straße
Studentensiedlung am Seepark (StuSie)
Händelstraße
Vauban Student Village
Bugginger Straße
Airfield Campus residences
My priorities are:
Single apartment with good privacy
Good facilities and overall quality
Safe area
Nice student community
Extra amenities (common rooms, music room, gym, study spaces, events, etc.)
Easy commute to the Bernstein Center
I’m less concerned about being in the city center and more interested in the best overall living experience.
If you’ve lived in any of these residences, which would you recommend and why? I’d really appreciate any insights or personal experiences.
