Claude Joseph Vernet - Seaport by Moonlight - 1771 [4018 x 2389]

I love the way he's painted the light in this one.

Berthold Woltze - The Irritating Gentleman (1864) [1521 x 2000]

Another one of my favourites. You just want to go over there and tell that a**hole to leave the poor girl alone.

August Malmström - Children playing by the Stream (1890s) [4604 x 2636]

I think every parent with small children cringes when they see this picture.

Alfred Wierusz-Kowalski - The Peasant Wedding - 1915 [2720 x 2125]

These young folks are having so much fun! Times and the toys may change, but people don't.

PIA is at it again

When I have PIA running on Windows 11, everything (except torrents) is crazy slow again. This happened before, and I resolved it by switching protocols from OpenVPN to Wireguard. Now it is slow with the Wireguard protocol as well.

Has anyone else noticed that the CBC supper news show is getting less and less content? I noticed a while ago that they started repeating stories from earlier in the newscast at around 6:45. Now the repeats start at 6:40. We just turn it off and move on to something else, but it occurred to me that maybe they are moving towards a half-hour show, which would be disappointing. Surely enough things are going on in the world to justify a full 60 minutes of news?
