The "Bookstagram" / "Booktok" Anti Fitzgerald Propoganda

Any fellow classic literature enthusiasts who are also sick to death of the anti F Scott Fitzgerald propaganda online? I feel like I can't say anything good about him or his writing online without someone saying "he stole his wife' s work!! He jailed her in an asylum!! Her death was his fault!!"

I mean, if anyone ever actually bothers to read the book Zelda wrote, Save Me the Waltz, they might finally see that Scott and Zelda have distinctly different writing styles.

Both of them drew inspiration from their shared life. He used certain phrases she'd said, yes. But his writing is very much his own.

I've even seen the ridiculous claim that The Great Gatsby is Zelda's literal diary.

Furthermore, both of them had mental health issues: she had something that would now be diagnosed as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or borderline personality disorder (the diagnostic systems were different back then, and her clinicians understanding of her doesn't map neatly onto current diagnostic criteria) and he was an alcoholic.

At the time, the standard treatment for severe mental health problems was institutionalisation. Scott didn't jail her in some asylum. He reluctantly admitted her to one when her illness was no longer manageable at home (writing in a letter to a friend that his capacity for hoping died on the little roads that led away from her asylum --- not the words of a villainous black guard as the internet would want you to believe).

Following her admission, Zelda and Scott continued to regularly correspond by letter. He was writing to her until the day he died. And she was writing back, even in the midst of a severe mental health breakdown, in one letter expressing her sadness over her current state and her warmth towards Scott "Had I any feelings they would all be bent in gratitude to you and in sorrow that of all my life there should not even be the smallest relic of the love and beauty that we started with to offer you at the end" and "I love you anyway… even if there isn't any me or any love or even any life" --- not the words of someone locked away by an abusive spouse).

And Scott died before Zelda. He couldn't have masterminded her death as some people seem to want to believe.

They had a messy tumultuous marriage, but we are not insiders to that marriage. They proclaimed their love for one another to the end. Their own daughter, Scottie, cautioned against outsiders judging their marriage.

I wish the internet would just stop with the rabid misinformation.

Scott and Zelda were not Ted Hughes and Sylvia Plath.

I'm looking for some advice. Want to move away, would ideally prefer a European country or the UK but I know that's unlikely so am seeking advice on my situation.

I'm looking to find a job abroad. Most European countries, canada, the USA and the UK and Australia do not recognise my masters degree as sufficient for work (its a UK masters in psych but doesnt qualify me to work as a professional clinical psychologist or psychotherapist). In addition to the MSc, I have completed multiple usa based online contuning professional development courses and have 12 years work experience in clinical setting with patients in Pakistan and teaching experience at university level.

I'd be immigrating alone and have some little savings. But nowhere near enough for those investment visa.

My long term goal is to settle permanently abroad

Given the instability in the middle East and the uae with the current conflict, what options should I look into? Any place where getting a work visa as a Pakistani isnt nearly impossible?

I'd be very grateful for any advice. Thank you in advance.

Any recommendations for a good doctor to treat female hairloss? Have a health condition that predisposes to it, am manging that but am worried about the extent of the hairloss.

Any recs for someone who offers effective treatments that are not extremely expensive (so not exosomes, prp) and are not temporary (minoxidil)? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello. I'm posting here for some advice. I've had pcos since I (F35) was 16, and recently my hairloss has become quite noticeable. I visited a dermatologist for the hairloss and she advised a couple of blood tests including a thyroid panel.

The T3, T4 values were normal but the TSH was raised. Took this to my GP. She advised that I exercise regularly for 2 weeks and then retest. Did so, and this time round the TSH was normal.

Could this have been a benign random anomaly? Is this common or has this ever happened to anyone else?

Or could this indicate hypothyroidism that my doctor has missed?

Has anyone found a hairloss remedy that works?

I've lost sooo much of my hair. I am worried about developing bald spots and already struggle to cover visibly depleted patches.

I can't afford exosome therapy or prp. The charges are crazy in my city.

Biotin makes my skin breakout.

Thinking of asking Dr about minoxidil. Has anyone had any success with it?
