I texted my ex after 2 years of no contact
Recently, I 19(F) reached out to my ex 18(M) after asking about a family member’s of his because they used to have health issues. For privacy reasons i’ll call him jack. Anyways, after texting jack he replied saying everything is good and that it was very sweet of me for checking up.
For context Jack moved abroad for studies while I am still back in our home country. Jack and I broke up due to our ideas not aligning so there was no bad blood and he also got a girlfriend after 6 months that we broke up but they broke up 3 months ago. Anyways, the next morning that jack replied, we kept texting back and forth for the next few days but it was a little difficult because of time zone differences. after a while of texting back and fourth, we added each other on snap and also our private accounts where we talked more. He even invited me to hang out after he came back home for the summer.
I started falling for the attention he gave me without even realising it. But after a while, jack told me that we shouldn’t talk as much because he was afraid of falling for me. he even removed me from his private insta account saying he is afraid that his ex will find out we’ve been chatting and will be hurt. I understand that he has boundaries but I respect it. But we still had each other on snap so I still snapped him but after a while he stopped snapping back. I confronted him about removing me on his private and he gave me his reason. and after a few days he even blocked me on snapchat. I am now confused and I am wondering if he was afraid of it becoming a situationship. I don’t know how to feel but all I know is that I need to focus on myself and de-centre men.
