Women with hormonal IUD's how did it effect your cycle?

I'm currently on day 36 of my cycle last month my period came on day 37 but I got a Skyla IUD put in (apparently I have a narrow cervix and I couldn't do the most common one) 12/11/15. I thought I was pregnant last month when my cycle took 36 days as it never has been that late and I'm usually 30 days, and I raw dog it so I bought a ton of pregnancy tests and I hallucinated lines nobody else saw on 7/11 tests which only showed up on one. I don't want to be pregnant and in the event I am since I have an IUD I will need a surgical abortion. Anyone with an IUD have there period lengths get longer or anyone with a uterus have any helpful thoughts?
