I am in Western New York in the southern tier area, mostly woods and farmland. I heard the sound as I was walking down the road, it sounded like it was coming from the tree right above me at the very top, but I could not see what was making the sound. I saw some birds fly away and the sound stopped, but the birds did not look like they would make a sound like that. Has anyone heard this before and know what it is?
