Twenty Four Hours Upon my Feet.
Body and Mind Utterly Beat.
Stomach Growls-I need to Eat.
Yet I can’t Cook, there’s no Heat.
So I Climb in Bed-Under Sheet,
And Hope I Dream of Something,
Tasty and Sweet.

Why does it Hurt,
So much Less,
When I Smile 
With Eyes Squinted Shut?
Why does a Flirt,
Feel like Threat?
All the while-
My Hand Holds the Blade,
With which I’m Cut?

Outside I now Dwell,
Outside of my Shell,
My Cage my Cell-
I Loved.
My Soul It Held.

“Don’t Tread on Me.”
Has Gone from a Decree,
To a Desperate Plea.
For I’m Sorry to Tell Ya Brother,
They’re Most Certainly Treadin’ on You.
Under Foot You They Smother,
Trampled by Polished Dress Shoe.
So Won’t You Please Grasp a Clue,
They don’t Work for Me,
or for You!
They’ll Take and Take-
and Take!
Until We All shall Break!
They’ll Snatch up our Young and Send Them away Overseas,
While You Sit with Hands over Eyes Saying “I can’t Sees!”
Since when did the Phrase-
“Don’t Tread on Me.”
Turn into-
“Step on Me harder, won’t You Please?”

They Say Curiosity Slew the Cat.
But I Believe it did much more than That!
What’s on the Other Side of the Sea?
Pathogens Brought to Those Unready.
Marie Curie Studied Radiation,
Now Buried in Casket Captivation.
What Happens if We Split an Atom?
Horrors One Cannot Truly Fathom.
If Only the Human Consciousness did not Shout “NO!”
When the World is Pleading to Please Leave Something Unknown.
So Next Time You go to Open Pandora’s Box,
Do Remember there’s a Reason for its Locks.
