Need Help Choosing DJI Mic Mini Kit - Compatibility & Best Setup Advice?
Hi everyone 👋
I currently own a DJI Mic Mini (1 TX), which I mainly use connected to my DJI Osmo Mobile 7P through the built-in receiver module. Now I’d also like to use the Mic Mini without the gimbal, using a standalone receiver as well.
Since I also need extra microphones, I’m undecided between these options:
- DJI Mic Mini 2 (2 TX + 1 standard RX + charging case) — €99
- DJI Mic Mini 2 (1 TX + 1 mobile RX + charging case) — €59
- DJI Mic Mini 1 (1 TX + 1 RX) — €45
- DJI Mic Mini 1 (2 TX + 1 RX + charging case) — €79
What would you choose in my situation?
My main doubts are about compatibility:
- Can I connect a Mic Mini 1 transmitter and a Mic Mini 2 transmitter to the same receiver?
- Can the receiver from the Mic Mini 2 work with older Mic Mini 1 transmitters?
- And does the Osmo Mobile 7P receiver module support mixing Mic Mini 1 + Mic Mini 2 together?
From what I found online, DJI microphones from different generations don’t always support cross-pairing between receivers/transmitters, especially between Mic Mini and Mic 2 systems.
At the moment I’m leaning toward the Mic Mini 2 (2 TX + standard RX) because it seems more future-proof, but I’m not sure if it’s worth spending more instead of just getting another Mic Mini 1 kit.
