Don’t worry about capitano redesign
Don’t worry about a redesign. At most capitano would get is a model upgrade with his textures maybe.
MERCH -
I feel like people are worrying too much about a whole redesign . Capitano already has official merch of his design. Sandrone didn’t get any merch with her npc design. Once her playable design is out officially for a bit I have no doubt she will have merch like Capitano currently has. Scaramouche also doesn’t have any merch of his pre release npc design. (And no other that I can think of.) Of course there is the Fatui blind-boxes, but that doesnt really show their whole design and clothes does it? Nothing for sandrone design was confirmed there. Why would hoyo make merchandise of an unofficial final design of a character? Hence why capitanos design won’t be changed.
STICKER -
Yes, sandrone has a sticker of her npc design..But she just had a wardrobe change basically. Her accessories on her head stayed the same npc and playable design. Capitano no doubt will keep his mask as that’s his core design element, what is marketed, and what his sticker has. Hoyo wouldn’t even bothered to give capitano a sticker if he wouldn’t have his mask.
CORE DESIGN ELEMENT -
Capitanos helmet is basically a given stay. His main reason for target audience appeal is the mask. Scaramouche had his hat. Pierro has his mask and so on. It’s the main thing people use to identify capitano. Hoyo (no matter how stupid) wouldn’t change that.
I’m sure there’s more points but that’s all I can think of for now.
