Got sick: fever, cough : what was it?

basically a few months ago I went to Riu Bambu, after 3 days I started to feel sore throat, and on the next day I got fever, totally closed nose and super tired even to walk like 5 minutes, and was coughing a lot. I noticed that there were many people with the same harsh cough like mine. I lost my appetite, everything I was trying to eat didn’t taste at all. it was like this for 1 week, then we moved to Barcelo Bavaro Beach, there I finally started to feel better, fever went away, but I still had a closed nose for the next like 5 days. and even though the food looked better in this resort I still didn’t reach to eat. Felt bad even watching food. only the last 2 days of vacation (13,14 day) I got my appetite back.

what do you think I got at that time? flu, covid or something else? Wondering if its something i got in dominicana or on the plane…

update: I am asking as I have been considering to go to dominicana again, but dont understand if it was random, or it always happens there. I travel a lot, and never been so sick like that time.

Help me choose my first ski

Im a woman 48kg, 166cm, 30 y.o.

I Ski for some years and think Im intermidiate+
Usually do red slopes in Italian Alps, sometimes icy slopes. average speed 33km, max speed was 57km. Usually I ski 10-12 days a year

Last times I rented Rossignol Forza 40 150cm, it felt good to go fast and turn. Next season I would like to buy my own ski. Considering Forza 40 157 or Forza 50 157cm. I would like to improve my technique over the years, be more confident with high speed. Anyway Im not sure whether I should get Forza 40 that Im already comfortable with, or get forza 50? Please advice.
