Anyone want an acoustic guitarist?

I'm bored as shit. I can play guitar but I ain't a pro. I know a bit about music. Studied it a while years ago. Played a different instrument for a decade before shitting the cat's box entirely and throwing it in the closet. Now I play guitar. X brace acoustic steel string whatever the fuck you call it.

I like dexter and the moon rocks. I have listened to them over and over for weeks straight. I like other artists, just ask. But Dexter has been in my feeds over and over and over again for centuries at this point.

I play lots of different genres. Sometimes I play country, indie, jazz. I've even jammed to kpop in my alone time.

I also have, get this, a SINGLE pitch pedal with a tiny amp and a Double X2. I've also played with nylon strings on this

Do I sound interesting? I probably suck to you. But I will play if you don't gag me or some shit.

The actual issue with Gen Z: they have nothing to do.

Before you accuse this of being an old man rant, I am Gen Z. This is just my unique perspective that I think is the actual issue with Gen Z and why they can't "get with it."

Previous generations had various things to do that didn't really make them unique at all but Gen Z has either ultimately rejected them or doesn't have access to them. And no, it isn't the economy that's causing it it is genuinely cultural changes mostly due to technology, information, and socialization. There is significant evidence that the cultural and social changes are actually driving Gen Z's poor economy even if that's not what any of you want to hear. Society is only now starting to catch up to these cultural needs and is why I think Gen Z is about to have a massive flourishing.

First, what were the typical hobbies of youth way back in the day? It was fairly simple: alcohol, drugs, partying, and concerts [which used to be free far more often]. Outside of that you had typical trades quite often such as cars, woodworking, or crafts. And of course, you had the smallest percentage of people into books, studying, or even computers.

All of that has flipped on its head modernly. The majority of Gen Z are far more responsible drinkers if they drink at all. The amount of those going to concerts or drinking alcohol has been decimated. Parties are at an all time low. Meanwhile what has increased in magnitudes is video games, streaming services, and computer use. Not only local media but foreign media, media you can't get locally at all such as J-rock, Kpop, and Eurobeat. Combine that with anime, k-dramas, and japanese video games. Meanwhile cars, trades, and crafts are rarely touched by the young anymore. Even local media [which was and is horribly monopolized], almost universally tried to "relate" to kids by exclusively showing them shows where the only people featured were in school never any actual adults, unique perspectives, or deep topics.

Combine this with the culture of the older generation in which Gen Z grew up which I don't think is talked about nearly enough. The older generation was waaaay too scared for their kids and often didn't let them operate outside of closed walls and boundaries. Often this means they didn't want them working at all. Many of them didn't even want their kids driving. These parents were drip fed often conservative media about how your kid could be kidnapped if you let them out of your sight and how college was the *only* path to financial independence. Meanwhile you had the mass media effect of school shootings parents often being afraid of video games themselves and numerous other "fears" that let me clarify are horribly irrational and cruel to impose on children. This is literal grooming of a people group to prevent them from becoming financially independent.

Now that Gen Z are becoming adults, they have nothing to do, so why would they want to work or even participate? Businesses never catered to them. And I don't mean employment, I mean actual things to do during free time. Gen Z isn't interested in bars or even necessarily clubs. Concerts modernly are either far too expensive or flat out illegal to run for free in places like the street, parks, or similar. Almost everything with anime or K-pop is done online - there are no unique stores for these hobbies usually. E-sports until recently was practically non existent at colleges or schools, and at least in my area, there was nowhere even close to an internet cafe or e-sports club until maybe 7 years ago.

There is obvious reason for hope though. Especially since Covid, I have noticed a drastic increase in businesses actually catering to Gen Z sensibilities. Anime Stores and even K-pop stores are opening up around the country. Around 40-60% of colleges especially public colleges now have esports including even community colleges. And the trades are actually starting to be valued again in the media due to the economy around office work. Even older hobbies like Gym Culture are hugely popular right now.

Weird bug I can't fix | HTML Image Loading

I have a collection of over 5000 cards using images from the internet. There is a persistent bug that Anki will not load the image until I load it in my browser. I use this script to generate the images in this deck, but I have realized this issue seems to exist in other decks I've made even when just using the image tag without random images. Does Anki not have the ability to seriously load images from the internet?

<div id="imageWrapper"/>

<script>

var images = "{{Back}}".split(",");

var randomImageIndex = Math.floor(Math.random() * images.length);

for (var i = 0;i<images.length;i++){

var oImg = document.createElement("img");

oImg.setAttribute('src', images[i]);

if (i != randomImageIndex) {

oImg.style.width = '0px';

oImg.style.height = '0px';

};

document.getElementById("imageWrapper").appendChild(oImg);

};

</script>
