Bucolic Farm Scene - '70s Otagiri Mug

Today's vintage market find is an incredibly detailed farm scene with multiple barns and windmills that wraps around the mug. So Americana! So nostalgic!

I added to my growing collection of '70s art this week. The artist, Albert T. Purvis, had an art gallery in Monterey Park, California.

Pier 1 Mocha Cappuccino

Oh, how I miss Pier 1 and the warm feelings I had whilst exploring at their stores. I found this vintage (?) mug at a thrift store. The hand painting is nicely layered and the little detail of the mini mug atop the handle is a creative touch. Heartwarming & nostalgic.

I kept eyeing it every time I went to the antique store so I finally sprung for it. It's substantially weighty for its size and I like the script engraving. I like the lid style too. Preliminary internet research indicates this style was made from the 1940s through the 1970s.
