Hybrid Phishing Scam

I'm curious if anyone has ever been targeted by a hybrid phishing scam...

I received a text last Saturday, supposedly from DHL Express, stating "Import duty payment required", which I ignored for obvious reasons. Never clicked anything, just assumed it was a scam and forgot about it.

Wednesday, someone buzzed my apartment, but I missed it. Then yesterday I get buzzed again while I'm at work- our intercom sucks so I couldn't make out what the person said, but I was expecting an Amazon delivery, so I buzzed whoever it was in. Got home at the end of the day- no package. I thought it was super bizarre but didn't think much of it until I remembered the text.

So (probably stupidly) went back, clicked on the link, and it took me to a very real looking DHL page with a delivery attempt time that was 10 minutes before my apartment was buzzed. The web page said my address was incomplete and I needed to update it, then gave me the option of paying a small reschedule fee. Obviously, I didn't pay it and immediately contacted DHL Express. They confirmed that the "tracking number" on the text was non-existent, so that pretty much confirmed I got duped.

Where I'm struggling with this, is the fact that the "delivery attempt" was literally 10 minutes before my apartment was buzzed. I find it very hard to believe this was a freak coincidence, and now I'm wondering if a fake courier actually came to my home.

I've looked online and this "hybrid" scam is apparently a real thing that happens, but I've never actually spoken to anyone who has experienced it. So I'm curious- has anyone ever had this happen to them?

I didn't give any information over on the website, but I'm still feeling very panicked and uncomfortable with the whole situation.

TIA.
