Juiced Leaf BMS?

So I posted previously asking for Leaf advice. Went looking at some later model (2018+) 40 Kwh cars, pretty damn nice, ngl, good interior, plenty of parking sensors etc. Unsure on the E-Pedal though, but it was my first time trying one. I guess once you learn it it's fucking awesome in heavy traffic.

But... The dealers were posting LeafSpyPro screenshots that made me think someone's reset the BMS.

For an example, I looked at a 2018 Leaf with ~110,000km on the clock and ~1200 QC that has a 98.2% SoH, and that got my spidey scammy sense tingling, given what I've been learning about their batteries.

But given I'm an absolute newbie, could I please get a sanity check? Did I pass up a great bloody deal?

Never owned an EV before, looking at a 2016 Leaf (Gen 2?) S, questions on Leafspy interpretation

Kia ora, looking to buy a car to replace my wife's Yaris that a Ranger backed into and wrote-off and I've read the excellent Nissan Leaf guide pinned up top, and dang, I'm learning a bunch of new stuff.

But I had some questions about interpreting the Leafspy info in the photo I've attached.

I looked at the LSP info linked in the Leaf guide by Sam Holford (and contributed a small PR to fix a dead link), but it doesn't cover this particular screen.

I understand that QC = quick charges and less is typically better for battery life, but I have...

...Questions

  1. What are L1/L2 charges? Just different amperages?
  2. As far as I understand so far, 12 bars = SOH of 85% = good, and 8 BARS = 59% SOH and starting to tip into "bad" and 6 bars = SOH of ~46% = very very bad, and while this may be a horribly vague question, how much battery degradation would you expect to see over time owning one?
  3. From my reading of the guide, 73.33% would show as 10 bars on the battery health display in the car, comparing where the bars are adjacent to the 1 in the attached photo (I can't see the bottom bars) to photos on the Leaf guide, it looks about 10 bars?
  4. The number in the left is range I'm guessing?
  5. Does battery degradation accelerate over time, or is it more of a linear thing? E.g., if this car lost 2 bars in 10 years, can I expect it to take a similar amount of time to hit 8 bars?
  6. For a 30kWh 2016 Leaf, is that a decent SOH and range?
  7. Are there any best practices around charging to minimise degradation?

No doubt you get asked this type of stuff a bunch, so thank you very much in advance - I'm trying to calibrate my expectations of these cars, I've only ever driven one once, and boy howdy, the torque they put down was amazing, but yeah, all my previous car buying knowledge has no power here, if you pardon the pun.

My son marched out of basic training and I'm so damn proud of him

He's joining the New Zealand Army as a combat driver, and he had to work so damn hard to get here, he had such a hard coming of it, which makes me all the prouder of him.

My ex-wife believed that God wanted our kids to be homeschooled, but it turns out, we were really shit at it, and me questioning "God's" will ended our marriage, by the time I got full custody and he went to a real school, he was 14 with a writing disability and really struggled. I've had full custody of all my kids for eight years, and always felt guilty that I hadn't done anything about it sooner, I was too scared to do so because I knew it would blow up my marriage, but it cost my kids, especially him, the oldest.

After barely passing school he worked at a vape shop for 3 years for want of anything better up l to do, until he realised he wanted to be more than that, and I encouraged him to follow a dream of his, to drive cool trucks in the Army.

It was not easy, first he had to build up his fitness to be even eligible for selection, then he had to build it up further to be inducted, and then he had to go through 13 weeks of basic training.

And as a Dad, it was awful, when he rang me at his lowest points, I couldn't swoop in and save him, all I could do was tell him why he should believe in himself, that he could do it.

And he did, he worked so fucking hard, I'm so damn proud of him. I cried a little during his passing out parade. But his success makes me think I did okay in the Dadding in the end, even if I fucked it up at the start.

I also wanted to share some highlights of his parade for the interested.

My son recently finished basic training for the Army, thought I'd share a few highlights from the final parade

Very proud Dad showing everyone this lol. They put on a bloody good show, IMO, and loved how they incorporate Māoritanga, especially when marching out.

The whole nearly 2 hours thing is on the Army Facebook page, if you're curious, I'm not allowed to link to it directly. But yeah, ka pai NZ Army, it was damn well done, and congratulations to the 106 recruits of RRF 419 who put in the hard mahi and became soldiers.

Volcanoes of the Taupō rift zone

Ngaurahoe (a young vent of Tongariro), with Tongariro in the background, Ruapehu, and lastly, andesite boulders in the Whangaehu River that drains the crater lake of Ruapehu and was the scene of the 1953 Tangiwai (weeping waters) disaster when the tephra dam on Ruapehu 's crater lake collapsed and unleashed a lahar that washed away a railway bridge causing an express train to plunge into the raging waters, killing 151 people.

While I was in the area, I stayed in accommodation in close proximity to the Rochfort Crater, the southernmost eruptive crater of the rift zone, located very close to the town of Ohakune.

Was the Black Sea a significant theatre in WW2?

Given that some Axis members had marine access to it, and so did the USSR etc., were there any attempts to use it strategically?

This is my tired ween, there are many like her, but this one is mine

My girl Klara, after spending several hours chasing rabbits, now snoring in my arms like the overindulged wee minx she is.

Anyone else hitting issues with reader accounts and workspaces?

The new workspace functionality (that becomes mandatory on June 22nd!) does not seem to work with a reader account, it looks like it can't save workspace data to the PDB.

Anyone else hit this? Did you manage to overcome it? I can disable workspaces for now, but come June, no dice.

This on top of the "use Streamlit, not dashboards" is some piss poor customer service, IMO, I just spent two weeks trying to figure out Streamlit permissions that let people share visualizations because Snowflake said so - I really wish they'd stop forcing changes on us that are half-baked and don't provide any benefit for customers.
