DIY Cragmaw Hideout construction

In my previous post I showed my game ready terrain layout. Here are a few pix I took along the way as I built it over two weeks (off and on after work).

The base is a 2’x3’ piece of tempered hardboard. I used 2” XPS foam for everything else. Lots and lots of hot glue hold everything together.

First session as a DM

I ran my very first D&D session as a DM this past weekend. I’ve only been playing for a couple years, but thought I would try my hand at it. It was so much fun. It was based on a one shot I got from a book on the Beyond app, but I wanted to expand and develop it the setting and situation. I’m already thinking about what comes next and what I can prepare for the players to enhance their experience. I think I’ve found my place in D&D. All terrain and minis painted by me.

Getting better at this

I feel like I’m starting to really improve my painting skills. Very proud of how these two minis turned out. Getting a reliable brush and some magnifying glasses has made a huge contribution. Models are Vae Victis minis purchased from a printer on Etsy.
