Looking at all of the problem posts Im wondering if it's worth buying

I was going to hit the buy button this morning but I had a question and stumbled here. I've done R&D for 30 years and looking at all of the problem posts it seems like this product isn't ready for primetime. Is there something Im missing?

Im still using the toaster my parents had when I was 3. Anyone know where to get applicances built as well as back then?

So Im still using my parents toaster. Now a days everything is computer controlled and built to fail in one year. Anyone know a brand that is built to last?
