What's wrong with my electric lawn mower

Starts and then stops. Exact same every time. $150 on Amazon. I know it's trash but I'm trying to fix it for the GF.

Internals are bare bones. Motor, wires going to handle, wires to battery, some capacitor/ resister thing. That's it. No sensors or anything. Batteries are full and read 20v. I have totally disassembled it. No clogs or blockages. Motor gears spin fine. Blade doesn't wiggle.

I have come to the conclusion that #1, im too old for series now (37, im not old I know), and #2 with very few exceptions all the books I would rate as some of the best books I have ever read have been one shot books. One book, one story, no sequel.

I just finished Grave Empire and books 1 and 2 of the shadow of the Titan series. I liked them both for the most part. I mostly liked Grave Empire but im not interested in reading another series after completing Stormlight. I preferred drop of corruption and its sequel more as the story was one books worth and no more with all things (for the most part) tied up at the end of the book.

Im looking for recommendations for one shot books. Im a guy and I have zero interest in romance books or books where romance is a major plot point. Im not interested in LGBTQ stuff although if a character is gay I don't care or mind. Im looking for something with more adult (serious, thoughtful, dark, real) vibes and with quality writing, more Dune than Stormlight I suppose.

Books I have liked (and I realize most of these are sci but I have not found many one shot fantasy that I thought I might like so im asking here):

  • Hitchhikers
  • Childhoods End
  • Elder Race
  • LOTR
  • Dune
  • Mistborn era 1
  • Tau Zero
  • Children of Time
  • Jurassic Park
  • Hyperion

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestion.

EDIT: I read all the sanderson shorts from his secret projects, they were OK at best. Too young adult for me.
