I hate Mazda sm

I’ve been trying to upgrade my car for a year now but my Mazda 3 just won’t break 😭 😭

Every time I look at a Ford (fixed or replace daily) or Forrester hybrid (subuwu) -and I’m so tempted to get one- then I think about how my Mazda 3 has not seen the inside of a shoppe in 70K miles 😭 😭

Why is Mazda so reliable 😭 even my family’s Honda and Toyota has been to the shop at least once in the first 3 years, I can’t move away from this brand even if I want 😭

Why won’t they release the CX5 with the CX50 drive train (aka the rav4 drive train) 😭 it would’ve been the perfect car for me- FWD, hybrid, 2k tow, MAZDA reliability

How’re the three cylinder BS for long term ownership?

Contemplating going from a very reliable (70k zero shop visits, drove it from FL to WA) compact car to a used BS and I’ll be driving it back to the east coast soon. This is mostly because I want to go on trails, car camping, and have more space in the car, plus a taller ride height.

But Ford’s reputation scares me- they’re #1 by far in recalls and last year their CEO had to apologize to investors (not even owners) for spending too much on warranties. I LOVE the way this car looks and being able to tow a tear drop around sounds really fun. The trunk table, and the split trunk door seems really cool and unique too, although I can’t think of a single use case lol.

Have anyone took this car to 100k plus? How good or bad is maintenance? I’m leaning towards the three cylinders to save on gas and maintenance so I want to know specifically about that.

Can I legally maintain tax resident in a no-income tax state after PCSing away?

I enlisted from state A with high income tax; PCS’ed to state B with no income tax (I actually love this place, I plan to move back and live permanently here but I did not buy a house) obviously switch my LES’s state to State B; and now I’m moving to state C that has income tax.

Can I legally keep state B as my tax state once I switch to state C’s driver license and license plate? I assume I can keep my B’s residency for as long as I want until I ended up buying a house?
