Blackout, edge blocked, top down bottom up?

At the risk of being needy, do these happen to exist? Blackout cellular is not 100% blackout without the side rails I’m starting to see pop up and with a night shift worker in the house we really need those side rails. I would love to not need to layer curtains over blinds just to get a sufficiently dark room.

But top down, bottom up are the best blind type by a mile because they give the option of privacy while still welcoming the outside and I don’t want my bedroom to be a dungeon.

I see the skylight blinds seem to be the only thing with light blocking rails but they’re considerably more expensive.

Am I looking for a unicorn or am I barking up the wrong tree or did I miss something obvious on the site?

Anyone know why they removed the speed humps on Central Ave?

They all seemed in excellent condition so I’m curious what the plan is and where city plans like are documented?

Will the Thread motor come down in price over time?

Building a smart home from scratch and leaning heavily towards doing Matter over Thread. We need way too many Smartwings blinds and that process difference for the MoT motor really adds to the ticket.

Is there a reason it’s so expensive? Is it simply because it’s new or is MoT fundamentally expensive?

Stupid request: automatically mop up spills?

I live with animals, and by that I mean a dog and small kids and it’s not uncommon to find a puddle on my hard wood floors. Yes I’ll do my best to teach them to clean up their spills but the corgi really drags out water far from bowl with his sloppy slurping.

Could I somehow automate having a mop come out to the kitchen anytime there’s a small puddle by the dog bowl or fridge or sink? I don’t want to just cover the place in towels/rugs.

Yes I know this is an over engineered request but more thought exercise than sincere belief this is unsolvable other ways.

Perhaps I’m thinking about this wrong, but I’ve had a Bluetooth meat thermometer for a decade and I’m very used to having a temperature picker based on what you are cooking. The iGrill mini (now Weber) even had a favorites option I used for custom weird stuff like a baked potato target temp or my Costco lasagna.

I miss having that with my combustion inc thermometer cause I feel like I now have to google it even if I feel like I memorized it I can’t always pull those temps out of my head.

I’m talking about stuff like chicken to 160 or thighs vs breasts or what temp my pork shoulder should be. My Joule had this too for sous vide. So just not used to a “smart” thing involving temperatures lacking a library of temperatures.
