Jazz community is not supportive but jazz players go full schizo

There is this guitarist sort of known in the local jazz scene, he is good I don't like his tone but he is good always watch his videos

And last year he was developing a way to play that sounded nice and sometimes it would get him up to 100 likes which for jazz is like full Madison Square Garden type of shit as you know

Now he barely gets 10 likes, why? Maybe cause he completely abandoned what he was doing and went schizo; whatever he is doing probably makes sense only in his head

I am not near as famous as he is but I know the feeling; sometimes when I am with friends a guitar is left in the corner and when I pick it to play they ask "what you doing?"

I don't know man maybe it shouldn't be that bad to play the Pokemon theme and master it

Do you miss vibe celebration in jazz concerts?

You know when Metallica begins to play Master of Puppets or when Sabrina Carpenter begins to play Espresso or even when a pop song begins to play a cover of any super famous band like Oasis and the whole crowd reacts with enthusiasmq

Such thing doesn't exist in jazz; the least you have is the band begins to play A Night in Tunisia and one man or another goes like "yeah" but everyone is expecting the typical random notes thrown so nobody really cares what they are playing

But do you miss the collective vibes of pop concerts?

Do you think jazz bands should start to be pushed to play songs everyone can relate like A Love Supreme and then everybody gets their hands in the hair chanting "a love supreme" like "nanana hey jude"?

I am sorry

One day I opened a thread saying bad things about lounge smooth jazz and that being a lawyer is better than being a musician of bands like this

And I regret, so i am sorry

Energy drinks are worse than coffee that is for sure

I used to see ex alcoholics getting high on it everyday and now there are lds doing almost the same, but to substitute an addiction they never had
