Blocking devices from internet

I keep seeing comments and suggestions to block devices from internet. Can someone explain how I would do that, with a matter device for example.

Also, if I have remote access configured for HA, I would still be able to access/control the devices through it, correct?

Tuya Local and RF hub

Hi all,

I have successfully integrated a Tuya RF hub into HA. I also have an RF code stored in the Tuya app and it is working there. The integration finds the RF code and fills in the information (which is correct UUID) BUT it will not add it as a device/entry. It just gives a "Unable to connect to your device with those details. It could be an intermittent issue, or they may be incorrect."

Anyone have experience with this?

Tricks for better mileage?

So today I traveled a very long distance for the first time. I was planning the route to make sure I got to chargers, etc. Along my route there were some places that had their stations out of service so I had to search other locations and at one point I was cutting it close so I started thinking of ways to get more mileage (turn off AC, etc).

I was on the highway and I was using hands free/cruise and thought that perhaps that reduces mileage so I turned it off. When I did the mileage went down, so I turned it back on and once it was set it slowly started upping my mileage but it only increased by 6km before it started reducing again as expected but it got me thinking what else don’t I know to help with mileage.

Any tips or tricks?

Charging stations (Canada)

By chance, anyone on here familiar with the ChargePoint stations (not sure if thy are only in Canada)? It states it can do up to 200 kw charging and I am the only one charging currently. It initially went up 180kw but came down almost immediately to 60kw.

Is there a trick to get the kw higher?

AirPlay Streaming amp

Hey all,

Does anyone have any recommendations for a small (compact) amplifier that has airplay built in. Ideally I would love it to be able to supply mono as I am only looking to connect a single in ceiling speaker (160 watts).

250 max budget ideally.

I see some online but really hoping someone has a personal recommendation that can do mono. Thanks

I am sure this has been asked but going to ask again. Just looking into potentially running openclaw. I have read briefly that M2/M4 Mac’s are ideal or similar and things like 16gb ram (minimum), etc.

What is the most cost effective and available hardware one could run relatively well? Perhaps someone has ran it on a smaller spec and maybe older hardware that is cheap?

Thanks for any insights

Anyone use TP Link Festa for their network? I know this is Omada but I think they are similar except the cloud based thing.

I just bought the Router, a 8 port switch and an access point to start and have initially started using it. I am moving from a TP link Easy mesh setup with a BE550 router and two satellites.

So far it has been under whelming. I get constant drop puts and the wired devices get constant disconnects (Apple TV when streaming). This never happened on the wired devices especially previously. I am using pretty much the out of the box settings some wondering if there are some additional settings/tweaks that others can suggest.
