What if theatre chains like PVR and Cinepolis started dedicated movie merchandise stalls inside theatres?
Imagine being able to buy movie-specific posters, keychains, collectibles, T-shirts, mini figures, popcorn buckets, or limited-edition items right after watching a film. Pricing could start from just ₹50 and go up to ₹500, making it affordable for most moviegoers.
Another interesting idea:
What if every movie ticket came with a free poster?
A basic poster would probably cost theatres only around ₹15–20 in bulk, and that cost could easily be included in the ticket price itself.
I feel this could create a much stronger cinema culture in India, especially among younger audiences and movie fans. People would have something physical to take home, social media sharing would increase, fandoms would grow stronger, and theatres could unlock an extra revenue stream beyond popcorn and snacks.
This is already common in many Western countries, especially for big franchise films.
Would this work in India?
What other movie merchandise or theatre experiences would you personally love to see?
Last 2 days for well packed and spent wisely. Today nothing. Feeling bored...
