Thrift store find.

I found this at a goodwill outlet. I think I paid .30 cents. It's Peter Jackson's first movie. It's campy and excellent.

Help!! I feel is worth saving.

I found this guy at a goodwill this morning and didn't see the mess until I took the tape all the way out of the case. I've had to splice many tapes in the day and even splitting the case on one with screws is not an issue. But this one is sealed and the tape is trapped. I'm considering trying something very small to try to coax it back on track or trying to crack that corner apart a little.

If anyone has had the same issue, any help would be appreciated.

** it lives! I was able to take a blade and carefully crack the seem on that one corner and pull the tape around the tape guide. I lost about 36 inches of tape, but it survived. I doubt I'll play it much as it sounds kinda like garbage, all wobbly and such.

Thrift store haul this morning

Got this for about 3 bucks today. I'm super excited about the blanks that are still in the wrapper and after I bulked wiped the others (sorry to the old lady whose classical selection I destroyed), I have some good recording media. As for the other commercial tapes, I was more just saving them. I like Phil and bowie, the rest....

Thrift store find, 2 bucks.

It's not the best brand but, I just popped some batteries in it and it worked flawlessly. And for 2 bucks, I'm in. Needs a good cleaning though.

Kenwood kx-w891 dual cassette

Hey all. First time here. I just got back into vintage stereo equipment and picked up the kenwood along with other things. I had no issues up until I had a cassette in the second deck and probably too quickly hit stop the eject and the head did not fully retract. I am a tech, just not of stereo equipment, so I'm ok with working on it, I just do not fully understand how it operates so I can't figure out how to get it to drop the last 1/4 or so. Any thoughts?? Thanks in advance. And if this post should have landed somewhere else, please let me know. Thanks all!
