Collection — What’s Next?
Very happy with the versatility of my collection as I’ve been upgrading it over the last few months. What should I keep an eye out for next? 🤔 (Woodworking/DIY/Yardwork/Home)

I was registering a new tool purchase the other day, and noticed that a previous gift set of tools was registered on my account. I had completely forgotten that it was registered all the way back in 2019.
Unfortunately, the reciprocating saw from the set was at my in-laws farm when one of their barns burned up in Nov. 2024. I was wondering if a replacement would fall under the LSA from Ridgid. I submitted a claim, but I obviously don’t have a physical product to mail back to them. I’m curious if anyone has any suggestions. If it’s not covered, that’s OK, just figured I’d try.
A few days ago, I posted my horrendous first attempt at cribbage board holes. Thank you to everyone that commented and gave some advice. Thanks also for the funny comments—my favorite being that it looked like I made the holes with buckshot.
I learned from you guys that cedar is a relatively soft wood and that a brad point drill bit wouldn’t give me the results I wanted. This time around, I used a decent paper template, adjusted the spacing slightly, and used a scratch awl with a hammer to make every single hole. Another thing I learned while going through this round was that the width of the wood grain throughout the board plays a big factor. Where the grain is tighter, the holes aren’t as nice. However, I am able to wiggle a cribbage peg into the hole still. I’ll come through with the awl and carefully widen these in the future.
Overall, I’m much happier with these results and am glad for the lessons learned, even if starting over is the only option.
Looking to make my first cribbage board out of leftover red cedar just to have around the house. Using a 1/8” brad point drill bit and not very happy with the results, even with the sections that are spaced better.
I know there’s a lot of user error with the Milescraft drill press, but looking for any suggestions on how to improve this. I’m not opposed to starting this over if needed. Is it simply spacing the holes out more and using a larger bit?
All of the splotchy sections have wood filler currently to try and salvage them because I had lots of holes joining together.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
