Want more runtime, 8ah?

I have a lot of 2, and a ton of 4ah batteries, and when I bought my chainsaw it came with a 6. I also have the inverter and I want max runtime for it. I think the 6 will do for my needs, but if I wanted an 8 for an extra buffer for runtime, it looks like it will be $200 at Home Depot. I am guessing if I want new with LSA, that's the best deal? Or what are my options?

Unable to file an LSA claim for Ridgid battery.

Anyone ever seen this before while trying to file a claim
For a Ridgid battery? I’ve had a really good experience with filing claims, although I will admit it’s not as streamlined as I think it should be. Plus, they just updated their website so now you have to be issued an RMA which wasn’t the case in the past. I’m not able to file a claim for a single 8ah battery, I’m just getting this error message. Anyone have any insights? I’ll call Monday but I’m just curious if anyone has dealt with this same issue, thanks and Happy Fourth!

Ridgid Nuke line coming with a free 4ah max output EXP

So I was scrolling Instagram yesterday and had a reel pop up showing of the Nuke line. At the very end of the reel the guy says every item you buy from the line will come with a free 4ah max output EXP battery (tabless.) Very exciting news! Here's the link:

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DaAvKSaJEFd/?igsh=YmpvcWdhcjVhanY3

Ridgid commented on the reel and the guy confirmed the info in the comments. Seems legit and hopefully Ridgid sticks to that. I've been looking to get a couple of these batteries but not really worth it at the $150 pricepoint when I can get a two pack of the 8ah EXP for around $180.

Edit: 8ah and 12ah are not tabless

Can anyone identify what this is? Recently bought a new house, and this is plugged into a socket inside the garage next to the door. It doesn’t seem to be connected to anything.

Ideas or thoughts most welcome!

Issue with New Driver

I picked up the RIDGID 18V 2-Tool Combo Kit with Drill/Driver, Impact Driver, Batteries & Charger (Model # R92721) from Home Depot Canada in about January of this year. I was using the driver other day and it just stopped working. I thought it was the battery. I changed to another battery and it the same thing happened. If I use the test battery button when connected to this driver, nothing happens. At first I though I had 2 dead batteries and tried another, same thing.

I cannot get this to work at all, any tips, anybody seen this before? What do I do? There is barely any scuffs on it too, my last one lasted me at least 12 years, I only got a new set because I broke the chuck on the drill trying to mix mortar with it.

Home Depot Sale

Hey guys!

I've been tracking this combo for months now and it always shows up out of stock. I subscribed to the waiting list and still do not restock after months.

I was just wondering has anyone actually landed this deal?

Any insight if Toolbox will come out with a One Drawer?

I love my Rigid toolbox 2.0, still have the original versions going strong. But I am at the point where I wish the toolbox has a one big drawer option like Milwaukee. Do we know if they plan on coming out with one anytime soon? Thanks.

Tire inflator accessory clips

I'm not here to rant about the chuck. Love it or hate it, Ridgid obviously redesigned it on the new model, and I'm guessing they got tired of replacing them under warranty.

What I am here to talk about are the accessory clips.

On the first handheld inflator I bought, the box was pretty beat up and the clip that holds the accessories was already broken. I figured the tool must have been dropped during shipping and didn't think much of it. I ended up exchanging that unit anyway because the motor actually started smoking.

The replacement? The very first time I removed the accessories, the clip snapped off. At that point I thought, "Alright... that's ridiculous." I'd owned the tool for maybe five minutes.

It's not a huge functional issue, but once the clip breaks, the accessories don't stay secured to the housing very well and I guess I just don't like having my brand new tool be broken. Either way I eventually sold that handheld inflator.

Now I have the new full-size dual inflator on the way, and I assumed Ridgid would have fixed the problem. Then I watched this review: https://youtu.be/MPN3atkVRlE?t=81

At around 1:21, you can actually see the accessory clip hanging off after it breaks when he puts it back on. The reviewer doesn't even mention it and just keeps going.

To me, this seems like an obvious design flaw.

Could anyone who owns either inflator check their accessory clips? Have yours broken, or do they already have those little white stress/fatigue marks that make them look like they're about to snap?

The craziest part is that I've gone through what feels like over 1,000 Home Depot reviews and haven't found a single person mentioning this. Ridgid has to know this is happening... unless I somehow have unbelievably bad luck.

What made you not choose Ridgid power tools?

Generally curious.

I'm a pros-and-cons person when it comes to decision-making. When looking at a power tool platform to buy into, Ridgid is my top choice so far. I'm curious why I see so much negativity toward Ridgid. I'm looking for real, experienced reviews.

EDIT: I have some personal experience. I just wanted to ask the question because Ridgid seems like a weird brand. Not bad, just weird.

I'm a firefighter and DIYer. We use DeWalt on our squad, and they work great. I've owned and used Milwaukee M18 and M12 drills, drivers, and impacts, as well as a Makita impact and an orbital sander. That said, I've seen batteries come and go. That's my main reason for looking at the middle child of TTI, given their LSA and decent specs vs price. They really seem like the perfect middle-of-the-road best value per dollar for a homeowner. I currently own a hammer drill and driver, a circ and miter saw, a multi-tool, and an inflator from Ridgid. They have worked perfectly and have made me a privacy fence, baseboards/trim, shelves, etc. So I own more than a handful of Ridgid tools. If I were a full-time mechanic, I'd be all in on M12.

Given Ridgid has NUKE coming, and I'm hooked on woodworking currently, I just wanted to get some opinions.

Thanks all!

DIY Step by step: Ridgid 18v 3/8 in. Belt Sander

Step by step guide on how I converted a Ridgid 18v Multi-Material Saw into a 3/8 in. belt sander. Motivated by some other posts on here, I grabbed a 2nd Multi-Material Saw during the DTO father's day sale and used the one I already had for this.

Have been using it without any issue.

No permanent modifications are made to the Ridgid Multi-Material Saw. So you should be able to reassemble it to send in for LSA if needed.
