Warranty Fix Turnaround Times

Hi all, had a quick question about the warranty turnaround for those that have used it. I have a Rigid miter saw (R4222) and the dust chute on the front broke. I first reached out to Ridgid customer service on April 22nd and they said they could get me replacement parts delivered in 7-14 business days. May 12th marked day 14. I called them today and they said 1 of the 4 pieces would be first available on June 20th and the rest are on back order without a date.

They advised me to call a few local dealers and all said that they go through the same process and if the parts are back ordered it would sit in their shop rather than my shed.

Wondering if anyone has encountered the same and/or found a faster solution to this. I can probably find a local shop and buy the parts but that kind of defeats the purpose of the warranty. I’d like to use the saw but the representative I talked to today said that could potentially remove the tool from being used in the warranty moving forward. Any help is great, thank you

Multitool Power button

Has anyone had a. Issue with the multitool power button being horribly difficult to turn on?

When I opened it up it just looks like maybe the tolerance if the plastics are too tight.

Any opinions?

Killer deal

So along with i just snagged 2 of these, and store i don't usually go to still had a bunch of the 12ah left so I cleaned them out. Now I got 5 12ah. Anyone looking to make some trades, im looking for 8ah max outputs, would like a dual fast charger, and the 4 modes next on my list. Willing to work with people, im not gonna register with lsa right away as to offer that as part of the trade, and id only be willing for same scenario. Any other offers shoot whatcha got, I'll entertain

Decisions, decisions...

I could really use two 6ah or 8ah MO batteries for my lead blower and String Trimmer. The 6ah 4ah and 2ah MO for $100 seems like an amazing deal, but then I saw the new multitool with two 6ah MO for $200. I already have the older multitool with the power switch (as opposed to the new one with the trigger).

Is the new multitool that much better than the older one?

Angle grinder not accepting battery

I bought an angle grinder and it won’t accept the battery. in the picture that’s as far as the battery will go on. is there a quick fix or do I have to return it?

edit- I tried three different batteries. I’m a tradesman who uses power tools everyday. so I know how hard to push. just wondering if there’s an easy fix or if it’s a common issue before I return it.

Mid torque sale?

Found this sale on a mid torque, 4Ah MO battery, and charger for $109 but when I add it to my cart it’s $249 + $79 delivery, with no pickup or other shipping option available. I called and they were able to get me the sale price but couldn’t avoid the $79 shipping. Been waiting on a mid torque sale, that’s a bummer. Any tips or thoughts on upcoming sales?

Battery Adapter

Has anyone tried using the battery adapter from amz to run Ridgid tools with a Dewalt/Milwaukee battery? Any issues to be aware of? Will eventually get the exp battery but for now want to work with what I have.

What is causing this?

The battery is damaging itself in the Ridgid R8640 oscillating tool.

Is this just damaging itself from vibrations? Seems like the tool and the battery body is chaffing against each other. Is this normal?

Are electronic caulk guns really much better than old hand pump ones?

I’m renovating (gutted down to studs, did full electrical change-out, insulation). Wrapping things up and got a pro great stuff gun and it made a big difference in the foam.

I’ve been using the same caulk gun since 2007 and it’s just a hand squeeze one. It doesn’t jam and works fine. But I see a lot of guys with the electronic ones, is it just because it saves on repetitive motion when you’re doing a lot? Or are they somehow significantly better? I assume the tubes still over-pressurize and drip out with the electric ones too?

I’m mostly Makita and it’s like $200 or something for one from them (although I’d take a sale on one any-day), but I saw a Rigid sale for a reconditioned one for $66 and that seemed better for me. I have a few ridgid things for when it’s a not-often used tool and I don’t need the extra power/quality. So I’m thinking about picking one up.

Of course I’m also guessing maybe the rigid isn’t as smooth or something? Anyway please let me know how much different the hand squeeze is from the new electronic ones.

Direct tools phone spam?

Has anybody had any issues with phone spam after giving their phone number to direct tools factory outlet?

Looks like it would save me $15 in shipping but it's not worth it if I end up getting a bunch of phone spam.

Do these Ridgid 18V 12" chainsaws EVER go on sale?!

I wouldn't mind having one of these because my gas saw is 20" & heavy - it's an Echo 560 or something like that. This little saw is ALWAYS $189! I've been into Ridgid for almost 3 years, & I don't think I've ever seen it on sale. I've seen combos, but I've got a TON of batteries and I have a trimmer, & that's all the OPE I want. I've got a REALLY bad back & ate up with arthritis, so this would be really useful. I've just always gotten all my tools at a significant discount. I don't remember seeing it at DTO. Thoughts on it? Suck it up & pay the price?
