Game changer!!

I recently picked up a book called the nozempic diet by Kim Pearsons. I was super close to just going ahead and ordering a weightloss jab and my partner begged me to give my weightloss just one more year.

I picked up the book because it’s written by a nutritionist who talks about naturally stimulating satiety and the GLP hormones as well as helping insulin sensitivity and regulating blood sugars.

I’m only 4 days in but I genuinely cannot belief how eating minimally processed foods and focusing on fat and protein has helped. I’m not counting calories right now because the book doesn’t require you to but my food noise is SO quiet.

As an example on food this is what I’ve eaten today

Breakfast - natural yoghurt with strawberries, hazelnuts and chia seeds

Breakfast - tuna, leafy greens, sweetcorn, tomatoe, cucumber with olive oil and lemon juice

Dinner - chicken, mixed vegetables, soy sauce, cauliflower rice

Snack - apple

I weighed in at 300lbs on Sunday and I would have looked at this meal and thought, where’s the rest?? I love my carbs and sugar. But I’m not even craving them right now.

Not to mention how much better I feel without all the processed junk.

Will post an update on Sunday with how much I’ve lost.

Symptoms but no pain - LOSING MY MIND

This might be a little long, so I do apologise

I've had bruxism for a good few years now and at first only seemed to be getting muscle / neurological symptoms such as dizziness, neck tightness, brain fog, just generally not feeling well.

Had a brain MRI = all clear

My symptoms most recently are BY FAR the most infuriating, uncomfortable symptoms I've ever had, but I still don't get actual pain.

The best way I can describe them is a constant need to push my jaw forward to get a little click or lower my bottom teeth to readjust. It feels like my tongue doesn't sit right. It just feels SO tight and tense and OFF. It's ridiculously distracting. And I don't even feel it's that related to bruxism anymore because closing my mouth fully so my teeth touch is actually SO uncomfortable and my muscles actually tremble a little when I try.

My jaw muscles get SUPER tired when I eat. It takes be 3x longer than other people to finish my food. And my throat muscles are also getting tight which makes swallowing a lot harder than normal

Dentist did me a thick nightguard and referred me to the maxillofacial surgeon. He did an x-ray and said although my symptoms are right sided, it's actually my left sided area that's more worn down. He sent me for a jaw MRI and am waiting on those results but he's mentioned Arthrocentesis as a possible treatment.

Has anyone experienced these kinds of symptoms? What do you do?

How do I fix this?

I had a near choking experience a couple years ago where I managed to cough and dislodge the chicken from my throat.

Since then, I find that I hyperfixate on my swallowing and sometimes it leads to be not being able to swallow at all, as if my muscles won’t move, and then I feel a surge of adrenaline and am able to swallow again.

I also have TMJ and when I’ve been chewing for a long time (it takes me ages to eat), the swallowing gets even worse.

Has anyone else experienced this? Have any tips for resolving this?

I am in therapy and do discuss this there also.

Starting over… again

I was doing really well at the beginning of this year, just like I was last year. I was consistent, making good choices, and seeing progress.

Then I fell off the wagon.

A few bad days turned into a few bad weeks, and now I’ve gained back nearly all of the weight I lost. It’s frustrating because I know exactly what I’m capable of, but starting over feels so much harder than starting the first time.

Weight loss jabs are becoming more and more appealing, but part of me worries I’ll just end up back in the same place if I don’t fix the habits that got me here in the first place.

So, for anyone who’s had to start over, what helped? What’s the best advice you’d give someone trying to get back on track?
