Future of Dylan Strome?

So Strome has 2 years left on a very cheap deal and I was wondering what the capitals plans are with him after the contract runs its course. If you see strides from little pro do you consider trading him at an increased price on his contract year? Or keeping him around but likely for a higher cap hit. Do you have enough money to keep him around? (probably) but no guarantees. What do yall else think?

Is this realistic or dumb?

I mocked up a trade for Seattle and Carolina, is this a possibility? Or terribly lopsided for someone/doesn’t make sense

What are your early nhl regular season predictions?

Serious ones and non serious ones. Bias or non-bias. Based on fact or opinion. I don’t really care, I just wanna know what everyone is thinking 🙃

Edit: Appreciate all the responses!

Just found an old thread of Capitals fans talking about the Forsberg trade. Brutal.

I really hope the commenters here are still active on r/caps to see this

Capitals 26-27 lineup?

My hope, if it sucks feel free to trash it. I also kept it simple (because I’m lazy) and didn’t bother with who they’d call up or what guys would be the extra forwards.

What to expect from McMichael - From a Capitals fan

I doubt most blues fans know too much about McMichael and as someone who’s watched him play for the last 4 years I wanted to give a rundown on him.

McMichael brings tremendous speed to a lineup, and is great a generating breakouts. His playmaking is about average, defensively he’s not very good. If anything he’s gotten worse as he’s gotten older. McMichael also excels in getting breakaways. One thing to be concerned about is his finishing, which is often being a problem. He provides a great net front presence, getting rebound goals, goals in the paint, and is a great tipper. He brings basically no physicality, and takes dumb penalties. Sometimes his attempts for breakouts are sloppy and can lead to turnovers, but he’s always offense first. Whatever info you’ve seen about McMichael being a Center is absolutely false. I would hope for his sake and the blues they DO NOT put him a center at all costs. He is one of the worst faceoff takers in the league, and lost his starting center role to Rookie Justin Sourdif who was playing his first ever NHL season. Overall I really hope Mikey succeeds in with the blues and I hope the best for him. Enjoy McMichael I think he’ll be a good top 6 guy for you guys.

Intriguing capitals late round prospect

I was just looking through numbers of capitals draft picks and noticed last year 5th round pick Jackson Crowder had a great first post draft year. Never get hopes too high because there aren’t any guarantees but will keep an eye on how he performs in the NCAA next season. Might be something interesting 👀

Thoughts on bringing in DeBrincat?

Heard rumors of DeBrincat going to the caps. Only rumors. For me it depends on what Detroit is asking for, but he is a hell of a scorer. 🤷‍♀️

Who is every NHL fan rooting for in the finals? (According to their subreddits)

After (sort of) in depth analysis and research, I’ve made this graphic to represent what sides every NHL fan has taken for the SCF. Yes I went all to 32 subreddits. Mostly from what I saw it was an incredibly large amount of hate towards Vegas. Most fanbases thoughts to the Hurricanes weren’t amazing, however better than Vegas. The context for the Flames is that a Golden Knights cup win would mean that they get their 2028 first. And Rasmus Andersson I guess. Also some info I found on certain subs was limited and there is always people who disagree and I’m sure this graphic doesn’t represent everyone’s thoughts, this was more just for the fun of it. (If you saw this on r/NHL first, it was removed because the mods suck I guess. Then I remembered there is a superior sub to post to, also again fuck r/NHL.)
