How many of you watched JC & Justin on the Mickey Mouse Club? (Along with Britney, Christina, Ryan, Keri…among others) I saw and met JC at a concert MMC did in Cleveland in 1993. I had the biggest crush on him when he joined the show. My mom and her friend got to meet JC’s mom (and another member’s mom) at the flower shop while they waited on us. There were over 5,000 people at the concert the day I went. I also saw 3 tapings in Florida.

I was a complexed kid. I had migraines at 2, didn’t speak until I was 4, later diagnosed with ADHD/OCD at age 9. I use to hate my parents medicating me as a kid, and I had crazy reactions to medications. (Can say I am happy the internet didn’t exist!) I was a bed wetter until 17, I had a medical issue with my bladder but I can say my parents made sure it was discreet and rarely I had accidents away from home.

Therapy was a thing I hated! I began seeing a psychiatrist again due to my mental health. But these kids..it shows she throws materials at them vs get them help! I can say honestly my heart breaks for them!

I really hope this wakes them up, but I don’t see it happening. It’s just another example of failure for them.

Hey all! I’m about to have my first psychiatrist appointment since I was a kid due to severe ongoing anxiety issues and dealing with my dad’s declining health.

I was diagnosed with both ADHD and OCD at 9 years old. I had a reaction to both Ritalin and Adderall. I can’t take either medication. They classify it as an allergy, but my body can’t process and eliminate them. They build up. I had the same reaction to phenobarbital. Adderall I was awake for 3 days straight. Ritalin I literally beat up my mother and didn’t remember anything the next day.

I am on Lexapro currently for my anxiety. The combination I was on that worked for me was Dexedrine and Prozac.

Has anyone found a combination to help with them both? Or something to help with the OCD and anxiety but no ADHD medication? I would like to avoid the ADHD medication if possible. My fear is going through another round of episodes of reactions.
