Debt with CRA

Looking for advice with CRA income tax debt. I filled out the monthly expense form to determine my payment amount and after essentials my leftover cash was determined to be $1300. The officer agreed to a temporary one month agreement of $1000 and said I need to call back in Sept to discuss a permanent arrangement.

The permanent arrangement she talked about would be over $2000 monthly- just over 50% of my monthly income.

Is that standard with the CRA? Not trying to avoid payment at all (I obviously need to repay) but over 50% of my income isn’t feasible and I won’t be able to pay my bills. Not sure if I should try and escalate to see if I can get someone else who is more reasonable.

Is this standard in everyone’s experience?

Refusal of acting role

Does anyone know if you can refuse to be put in an acting role?

An employee in my department went on a leave and my manager is going to put me into their higher position which I absolutely do not want. The money is not worth the extra stress and I’m already burnt out.

**Coming back to edit incase this can help anyone in the future**

I spoke with an AUPE contact who confirmed the employer can’t mandate you to work in a different classification.

About to have a menty b 🤪

I unexpectedly ended up covering for a coworker who is now on a multiple month leave. They were a step up from my current position. Part of the tasks fall under my scope, but the other part I have had no training/or even access.

Can my manager expect me to cover the ‘higher level’ tasks? My mental health is horrendous and I don’t want to take a leave but this is pushing me past my breaking point.

Advice please 🙏🏻
