Old window popped out - recoverable ?

this old window popped out in the middle of a storm during a near 100 degree heatwave in nyc on the eve of the 4th of July.

I’ve contacted my landlord but is there anything I can do in the meantime?

The window frame is now covered by a garbage bag. It’s freaking hot and the AC was already working hard before this.

X280 - limit battery charge to 80%

I’m running windows 10. Is there anyway to limit the battery charge to 80%? I tried through bios but the option didn’t seem to be there

Two questions:

  1. what is the easiest way to toggle my screen to grayscale
  2. what is the best way to disable or block wifi

Working on whipping my Thinkpad X280 into a strict little, easy-on-the-eyes writing machine (just gedit, LibreOffice, GoldenDict, and a PDF reader)

I have my eye on a used Lenovo ThinkCentre M900 just for writing. Wondering what you all think is the best cheap miniPC to buy (used ideally) to get the basics done (no gaming, no streaming, just word processing).

Sacrilege yes, I know, but at the moment I just want to get writing and not get caught up in installing a new OS.

I have my eye on a used Lenovo ThinkCentre M900 with Windows 11 already installed. Plan is to open the thing up, yank the wifi card, and then get rolling.

I plan on just using Notepad, wiping most other apps, and setting the screen to grayscale. Though maybe you all have some other suggestions. What are your preferred Windows set ups (if any)?
