So happy to be back in a bronco!!

So happy to be back in a bronco!!

I'd previously had a bronco (4cyl, obx, no sas wheels), but unfortunately had to sell it due to unforeseen circumstances. Temporarily swapped into a grand cherokee (which was nice and enjoyable, but not as fun) and then the stars aligned, and I got myself back into a bronco again. Boy did I miss it!

'22 Outerbanks, with 24k miles, lux package, in eruption green, with roast interior AND the v6 for $40k OTD. I love it.

Licky fits 🫠

My puppy had her first lick fit earlier this week, that passed about an hour after administering pepcid and bread and a barf. She's continued to have smaller episodes literally every day since 🫠 Anywhere from only a couple minutes to a half hour. No specific time of day. Nothing has changed in her diet at all. She has been passing smelly gas way more often, but not sure if thats due to upset or air intake from a lick fit.... if you catch her right when it starts, giving her a treat does seem to help her more than a pepcid. Poop has been normal. No skin allergies or anything weird.

Not sure if she's suddenly developed an allergy to her food, growth spurt woes, or maybe even her hormones starting to kick in a little and throwing her off??

She does have a slow feeder bowl, but she doesnt get the whole lick the food out... Instead she tries to chew the bowl 😂 but it does slow her down.

Six month old female swissy, not spayed. Going through typical big dog growth spurts.

Keeping track of it through the weekend and touching base with vet next week. Any thoughts or ideas in the meantime??

Joined the cummins world!

Started out my truck journey with ram 1500s. Then switched to a (very pretty) 2500 laramie with the hemi when I got a heavier trailer. And now I upgraded to a cummins yesterday and think I did pretty good. I loved my gasser, but was so sick of listening to it scream up the hills around me and I am starting to haul more and heavier loads..... also HATED the dial shifter - who puts that junk in a working truck???

I wasn't sure I'd be able to find a cummins as spotless and well taken care of as my hemi AND in my price range, but I managed to do it!

Landed a 2020 big horn with only 25k miles that was optioned out with the nicer radio screen, heated seats and steering wheel, etc, and blow in bed liner. Body spotless, undercarriage spotless, brand new wildpeaks, low idle hours (150 idle - 650 drive), air bags in the bag, and banks intake. Got out the door for $48k (out of pocket basically nothing with my trade) 😬

Any tips other than keep on top of maintenance and avoid excessive idle or stop and go aka actually run the thing and use it? Working on getting warranty to cover engine, trans and DEF system.

Looking for tips to avoid bloat!

First time Swissy owner and first time big (over 60lbs) dog owner. I am beyond freaked about bloat! I already feed her in a puzzle bowl to slow her down and try to keep her calm for an hour after eating or tied if we need to be outside for longer than a bathroom break. Also wait awhile to feed her if she's panting heavy/hot. What other tips do people have? I want to get her stomach tacked, but figured waiting until spay is best to do it all at once . . . However, thats 1.5ish years away still and a lot can happen in that time! She does seem to get acid reflux type stuff every once in a while, so that just ads to the worry when it acts up 😖

IUD and joint soreness??

Has anyone gotten sore/weak knee joints from an IUD.... I feel nuts, but literally since I've had the thing my knees and feet kill me constantly along with being unmotivated 24/7 and just angry. I feel like I have a boat anchor attached to physically and mentally all the time 😩

Skyla side effects

So I tried the pill a few different times throughout the years. None of them remotely agreed with me and the last one I had tried literally ruined my life for a year+. After letting my body chill out for a while I decided to give an IUD a shot... went with the lowest dose hormonal and crossed my fingers. I've had it for about . . . five months? Night and day to the pill. HOWEVER, I'm now having second guesses on it.

First month I had spotting off and on the whole time. Since then I get none and my cycle is regular (and lighter!).

First month I felt like a wild teenager again. Now . . . I literally have zero sex drive.

My mood felt a lot more even initially, but this past cycle or so I got raging mood/short fused for the two weeks leading up to my cycle. Like flipping out over the dumbest stuff and aware of it but like.... had a hard time keeping a handle on it.

I'm tired all the damn time and just . . . Don't feel anything. If its not anger or weepy, its detatched and numb and foggy and unmotivated. Like it takes all my motivation to get up and do something and I'm normally a very active person. I HATE it.

Problem is, I can't tell if its the IUD. I lost one of my best friends to cancer around the same time the IUD was put in place and I'm having a hard time trying to disect if its from life catching up to me or if it's the IUD.

Cool things to do in afternoon

We are staying in Marathon and taking a day trip down to keys west while visiting in July. We have outdoor things booked (pending storms) before lunch and after dinner in the evening. Looking for cool (temp haha) things to do or air conditioned places to hang out for the afternoon so we don't totally melt away!

Alternative to Tatse of the Wild

Been using Taste of the Wild for almost two decades now. Dogs always looked good on it, no excessive gas or poop like the previous dog foods we had used. However, three of our past five dogs have all developed a cough at end of life to varying degrees. All different breeds. All generally healthy dogs until death/old age of mid teens. I know a while back there was the flip flip of "go grain free" to now studies showing the grain free to causes heart issues. We shrugged it off with the first two, but the third one (he's about 12) has started that same exact cough recently.

As much as I like how the dogs keep on taste of the wild .... three times developing the same exact cough at end stages of life is hard to ignore. I have three younger dogs (beagle, sheltie and a swissy) and I don't want to sign them up for heart issues if this food is causing it. So I'm starting the headache of dog food research again.

What foods are suggested nowadays that don't cost an arm and a leg and don't make them fart their brains out??

First Giant Dog Breed I've Had

First giant dog breed I've had. It's wild how quick they grow compared to 60lb and under adult dogs. She is just barely 13 weeks (over 30lbs) and I got her about 2 weeks ago. She looks bigger everytime I look at her! She was shorter than both my other two when I got her. Now she's got a good couple inches on them when standing. Now if only the bladder would mature as quickly in size 😅
