Asbestos air vent?

What’s the chances this contains asbestos?
It’s in an under stairs cupboard in the kitchen, with what would have originally gone to the garage.
1960s house. UK.
Management survey checked this cupboard but did not identify as suspect.

Airing cupboard ceiling

Had a management survey which stated no identified asbestos in the airing cupboard. But he didn’t test - it was visual only.

I’m scared to even open the airing cupboard at the moment (asbestos OCD).

But would you suggest going further and actually get it tested instead? (No current plans to refurb).

1960s house, UK.

Note: aware of the vermiculite. Had two separate samples come back as negative.

Asbestos Soil Stack?

1960s UK terraced.
Internal pipe (through roof - bathroom - kitchen).
Had a management survey already which didn’t call this out as suspect, but I am suspicious!
Have you encountered one that is ACM before?

Contamination OCD and parenting

Hello! Introducing myself… I’m a 36 year old mum of two (6 months / 4 years) and I am just starting to recover from my second experience of post-partum contamination OCD.

With my first child, we were coming out of COVID - so needless to say it was mostly centred around germs. It nearly landed me in a mother and baby unit, given at times I was struggling to function. Luckily, I had a great bond with baby but I was terrified of them getting seriously ill - particularly meningitis/ sepsis from something like E Coli.

Over the years, I then had fleeting other obsessions centred around keeping my child safe: dangerous dogs, getting run over, choking, car seat safety.

Earlier this year I had baby no. 2, just as we moved into a house which turned out to have some asbestos in the artex, floor tiles and soffits. This started my next absolute spiral which saw me leave the house with the children and stay in a hotel for 2 weeks as I was too scared for them to be in the house.

It has been absolutely awful.

But my biggest challenge is always balancing my children’s safety is a rational way. I know my OCD, when bad, impacts them and my eldest is starting to see it. But at the same time, I can never truly see the line between keeping my children safe vs losing my mind to the OCD.

I have restarted exposure therapy and medication - but any advice on what else you have found helpful (podcasts, meditation, books - you name it) would be amazing!

Hot water / immersion tank 1960s

Could this have contained asbestos?
It leaked - and the plumber came and removed it/replaced.
Now I’m thinking whether or not I need to worry!

Is this grey matter AIB?

Previously posted of my fear of the artex.
However - I’m now terrified the grey material is AIB.
1960s house, UK, kitchen ceiling. Electrician made downlights in what appeared to be a smooth ceiling but after it was patched in I noticed this.
Already plastered so cannot test.
Any thoughts would be hugely appreciated.

Asbestos, drilled artex and OCD

To start off - I have OCD. Specifically contamination and responsibility for harm OCD. So I am spiralling.

Our house is 1960s, UK. Moved in January 26.

We have two children - 4 year old, 4 month old.

We had a full asbestos management survey done. Chrysotile in the artex, so had ceilings in poor condition professionally removed or sealed and replastered.

However, the kitchen has had an extension in the last c.25 years and the ceiling is smooth with down lights. We wanted to just add 4 more.

I told our electrician we had asbestos artex throughout the house. He went ahead and circle sawed through the ceiling whilst the kids were in the house. Didn’t raise any concerns.

The next day I glanced up at the patch in and noticed a textured surface, my heart sank. There hadn’t been much dust so there was not real clean up.

I tried SO hard to protect my children and feel I totally failed, and have exposed them. I’m terrified what that means for their future.

I am struggling to know if I am overthinking the risk or if this is a sad reality.
