Columbia GS Fall 2027 Profile Review

I’m planning to apply to Columbia GS for Fall 2027 as a Computer Science major and wanted some feedback on my profile, especially whether I should take the SAT or apply test-optional.

I currently have a 4.0 institutional GPA and around a 3.85 cumulative GPA. A few years ago, during a difficult period in my life, I attended a different college for one semester and took only 3 classes (9 credits). Since then, I’ve completely turned things around and should have around 60 college credits by the time I apply. My nontraditional academic path is one of the main reasons I’m interested in Columbia GS.

Academically, I’ll have my general education requirements completed along with college algebra, trigonometry, precalculus, calculus, and Physics I with lab.

Some other parts of my application:
Phi Theta Kappa member
Community college Honors Program
Dean’s List
Participated in a ton of extracurricular/transfer programs, including programs through Columbia and Stanford

Published a machine-learning research paper on childhood stunting/growth, collaborating with researchers/students from India, Pakistan, and China

Two letters of recommendation: one from my English II professor and one from my Calculus professor

Visited Columbia twice and toured the campus
Participated in a Columbia Engineering startup program
Planning to participate in two Columbia hackathons and one UF hackathon this year

What should I improve before applying, and would a strong SAT score help enough to be worth taking, or should I stay test-optional?

Applying without Highschool transcript and I’m not sure about sat

Why are so many Santa Fe professors rated so low on Rate My Professors?

I was looking through Rate My Professors for Santa Fe, and I noticed a lot of teachers are rated around 3.0 or lower. I checked a few other schools, and it didn’t seem nearly as bad. Is there a reason for this, or is Rate My Professors just not that reliable for SF? Would love to hear from people who have taken classes here.
