Hi all… this is a rant that ends with a question …posting here as I’m utterly confused yet not surprised by Bell mobility promotions. I was a Roger’s customer and switched to Bell via a promotion they offered. In short promo was 39.99/month plan w tax (details of plan are irrelevant). I switched in Jan. It is now July … 6 months with Bell and there’s a price increase to $46.33 w tax.

This isn’t about the approx $6 increase … it’s the principle behind this. All providers do this. But increases typically activate a year following not 6 months.

Called customer service- they can’t do anything. Talked to loyalty- not doing anything and the women was EXTREMELY rude, tried to sell me a higher plan, yelled at me saying “listen mame/sir” “you are not listening” …horrible, horrible, horrible.

Once I switch again .. someone from Bell will call to ask why I left… and offer me a promo to get me back. Crazy that organizations like Bell today have no clue about customer service & loyalty, crazy that divisions aren’t integrated and continue to operate in silos ….

Background: we typically review our plans yearly, we don’t lock in and tend to switch to keep costs down. We own our phones. Providers play these increase games and we do on our side as customer … switching between Bell, Rogers, TELUS. And at times discount providers (Virgin, others)

Any insights on best providers, that retain pricing as per contracts (even though they always include price increases as stipulations in all contracts) and don’t surprise you with “general price increases” and have good service /connectivity… probably not. But thought to ask.
