[Question] The battle of the sub 1000 chronographs, which one?

I am looking to purchase my first chronograph under 1000 (all of these land around the 500-700 mark.)
Which one should i pick and why? also would be great to know people’s second choice

Here’s what I’m thinking.

  1. The pogue speed timer. Looks pretty great and has a rich history, being worn in space by William Pogue as opposed to his speedmaster issued. Reliable quartz solar too and who doesn’t love a Seiko.
  2. Studio underdog panda. Stunning dial details and movement on display. Unsure on reliability of movement and if servicing would be costly, would be great to know.
  3. Studio underdog watermelon. Which colour underdog?
  4. Seiko speedtimer panda. Which colour speedtimer?
  5. Citizen eco drive. Haven’t really read up on this model but looks cool and thought I would include.

[Question] Are there any Sub 500 gems anyone would recommend to add to my current collection?

Currently I have this trio of watches which I am definitely enjoying.

Seiko 5 sports SRPD51K1- a great everyday versatile watch. I love its automatic movement and it is my first automatic, sucker for a bezel too.

Casio Duro - Good fun as you can rotate straps pretty easily and I have modded a blue sapphire crystal on (old crystal had warped from heat) Certainly a “gateway drug” into the world of watches.

Casioak- Just one of the GOATs, BT and Solar make this especially functional and it can withstand anything! Great everyday.

Looking to add another sub 500 quid watch, at the moment I have been looking at chronographs and the formidable ‘Arnie’ Seiko. Open to all recommendations!
