I've noticed that Reverb wants sellers, even those going back to the first ownership of the company , to provide photo ID and more detailed financial information. Their stated intent is to keep Reverb "safe and trustworthy for everyone".
My feeling becomes why then aren't buyers being asked to provide photo ID and financial information? Isn't it scam buyers that are what is keeping Reverb from being "safe and trustworthy"? This is what I've seen from my time on these platforms.
I know Trogly showed how he received some windshield washer fluid instead of a guitar but was that just made up for views? The other big platform for guitars. ebay, doesn't require photo ID for buyers or sellers. They are selling perhaps 70 percent of the $volume that Reverb does.
