Is it just Japanese with Migaku or....?

Hi there,

I'm currently looking into buying the app to further my learning in Japanese.
However, I note it says 11 languages.
Do you have access to all of the languages when you purchase or is it one language per purchase?

Thanks.

I Was Played

Spouse and I have been separated for ten years. We have 3 kids together, our eldest is disabled. We split up due to escalating violence. Since then they've been dependent on me to a degree and I've kept them around as I wanted our kids to have both parents in their lives.

Big mistake.

When they were living in the same State they didn't see the kids much. We'd go over there but it was never a good time, dramas with the other tenants (it was a housing complex) and then 3 years later they moved back to their home state. The expectation was that I follow but I was like um no, the kids are in school, they have their friends etc. From time to time I'd ask for a divorce but the papers were never signed and I never followed up. I was focussed on my kids so I didn't date and I decided to go to uni and get a degree with a view to working when my oldest became more independent.

They'd visit from time to time but birthdays and Xmases were missed and I warned them that they risked alienating themselves from the kids if they continued to be distant.

About 6 months ago I was supposed to go on a placement for uni. They came down to supervise the kids while I did so but ended up having a tantrum and going back (because I showed them the door). I had to negotiate with the uni to get another one which I did on account of the DV that resulted that night. Fast forward and they're due in two weeks. They called for something and as I didn't pick up it went to voicemail. For some reason after they left a message it didn't hang up and I proceeded to get a front row seat to a very interesting conversation with a person we both knew discussing me, made some lewd remarks about me, talked about the kids and how their intention was to come down, wait for me to go, then the person would come down as well and they would "gather evidence" so ex could sue for custody. They then did drugs and got intimate. My head did a Linda Blair and fell off midway during the 22 minute voicemail.

I wasn't angry about the intimacy. I don't care about that. That I had to listen to it eewwww. What I was stunned about was the discussion and apparent plot which I had no clue about or that they would even consider it. And the drugs. Their conversation made it pretty clear what was being done and I just did not pick that they'd ever do that. However, it did tick several boxes relating to behaviour, money and unavailability.

Clearly I don't want them anywhere near the kids right now. One, is because I have been blindsided and I am KICKING MYSELF for being so damn trusting and STUPID. So, in addition to scouting for a laywer on Monday, I have cancelled their flights (I paid for them) and am working out what to say instead of saying, you lying cunt I'm onto you and your town bike, I hope the two of you get busted for all that meth you did. Nooooo...I don't want them to know that I know what they think I don't know. But I need to be convincing.

Any suggestions? What would you do? My head is still spinning to be honest. Because I've been played. And I'm seething about that. I also don't want our kids around illicit substances.

Thanks.

Missed the TPPP Cut Off for SA - What now?

TPPP Applications opened in May and closed in June.
Final two pracs are in August and October so the required reference from prac was not available.
(I realise that other States are yet to open so I could apply there. Qld is appealing but dear God the housing situation is bad).
Seeking suggestions as to what one should do now. Thanks.

Cut Out of the Funeral - How Do I Be the Bigger Person Here?

Hello Beautiful Selfs!

I need advice regarding the second and what is the final part of my situation.

I previously wrote about being notified of my mother’s death by text. It turns out that was not an isolated cruelty, but a theme.

I was later notified of the funeral by the funeral home — also by text. Then I received a text from my niece asking for photos for a montage she needed completed by Friday. By that stage, everything had already been arranged, and I had been entirely cut out.

I have also been told that if I say anything, or go against the service as arranged, I will be removed.

As the deadline for the Church was that day, I tried ringing my father, but my brother had his phone and was responding to texts as him. I went to speak with Dad directly about whether I could say a few words at the funeral. My brother initially refused to let me see him. Literally blocking the door. When I alluded to police involvement, he produced Dad, then sat there throughout the conversation, frequently interjecting.

Dad initially seemed open to me saying something, but my brother objected strongly saying everything had been finalised. His reasoning was that he “didn’t know what I would say.” He also claimed he had contacted me previously but that I'd not responded, but when asked to show the message, he wouldn't — because there was no message.

My son was with me. My brother then turned to him and offered him the chance to be a pallbearer. My son asked why he could be inserted at the last minute, while I was denied the opportunity to eulogise someone I had spent every day with. I could not have been prouder of him.

When Dad appeared to agree to the minor eulogy, my brother lost control. I asked Dad whether we needed to call someone, because he lost it. Dad then backed down and said to leave things as they were. So the tantrum got what he wanted. No point in arguing further so I left.

I have since received a voicemail from my brother saying I am not welcome at the funeral, that he would prefer I did not attend, and that if I do anything “out of order” he will remove me. I ignored this and informed other family members, who were not happy with his behaviour and told me to come and sit with them.

Is it necessary that I say something at the funeral? No.

Is it necessary that I attend? Yes. I think it is.

I have two questions:

1. If I am approached, baited, or confronted at the ceremony, how do I manage it without being drawn into a scene and made to look like the problem?

2. And after the funeral, how do work through the fact that I was deliberately excluded from my own mother’s farewell and how do I learn/grow from this?

Thanks. This forum is saving my sanity. xx

Notified of Death of Parent via Text

My mother died last week.
I'd been en route to see her when I get a text just after 6pm from my younger sister.
"Mum passed away. 5.20pm. RIP.
Oh and btw, the body will be there until tomorrow when the undertakers come get her so you can still visit until then..."

I think I was in shock for a few seconds because I pulled over and just sat there looking at it. I rang her and asked her if that was any way to notify someone and I was told not to be selfish. Admittedly, I lost it. I screamed at her and demanded to know why I was so deserving of such cruelty and relayed that I was disgusted in her behaviour.

I found out that the family were with her and had been there until she passed and did not pick up the phone to tell me.

When I got there, the room had been stripped clean even down to the patchwork blanket on her bed. I shut her mouth, centred her face, put her hands crossing her chest, wiped her face and took out the IV. I pulled the white bed sheet up over her body and neatly tucked her in and I brushed her hair. My son, who was with me, dimmed the lights and took away the half empty coffee cups from her bedside table.

To be honest, this has hurt me more than my mother's death (as she was ill so we were expecting it but not as quick as it happened). I would never send someone a text to inform them of their loved one's death, not even someone I didn't like. And yet they did this to me. I am now being cut out of funeral preparations.

And I don't know how to process it.

Move to Mt Isa

Any nurses here, had a placement in or have worked in Mt Isa?
Looking at long term moves due to my having kids that are still in school and need that stability.

What's the town like?
Is it good for kids? Are the schools okay? Etc etc.
